Ho avuto il privilegio di poter studiare accanto a lui in questi mesi, durante il corso di Vocologia presso l’Università dello Utah (Salt Lake City, USA).
Poter ascoltare la materia direttamente dalla sua voce è stato un dono raro: un’esperienza che porterò con me per tutta la vita.
Il professor Titze non è solo un pioniere e un genio nel suo campo, ma anche un essere umano illuminato, un vero maestro di vita.
Ringrazio di cuore tutto il corpo docente, fonte costante di ispirazione, e Angie, che è stata il nostro angelo custode dal primo all’ultimo giorno.
Un pensiero speciale va al regalo più inaspettato di questa esperienza: i meravigliosi colleghi, provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.
Anche se solo per un breve tratto, i nostri percorsi di vita si sono intrecciati. Ed è un legame che resterà per sempre.
È proprio vero: più si impara, più si scopre quanto resta ancora da imparare… ed è questo il bello! Sapere che per tutta la vita non smetteremo mai di crescere.
Ho scelto 6 classiconi del passato che ho sempre amato e mi sono chiesto: se potessi cantare queste canzoni senza regole, solo per il gusto di farlo, come sarebbero? La risposta è stata semplice: voce, pianoforte e la gioia di cantare.
Così ho chiamato il mio super amico, che ha accettato di accompagnarmi in questa piccola avventura. 🎹 Il risultato? Canzoni che mi sono divertito tantissimo ad arrangiare e registrare, fatte esattamente come il titolo che ho scelto: “a modo mio”.
Spero che ascoltarle vi emozioni tanto quanto a me è piaciuto crearle.

Sono nato lo stesso giorno di mia madre e di mia zia (sua sorella, e no, non sono gemelle!) e quando è stato possibile, sin da bambino, abbiamo sempre festeggiato insieme, ed è per questo che vedete anche loro spegnere le candeline.
La signora che vedete salutare dalla golf cart è mia nonna… che è venuta a fare un salto alla festa pur non essendo più una ragazzina (se fate i calcoli partendo dalla mia età avrete un’idea…!).
È stata una festa meravigliosa!

Mi mancavano pochi esami quando firmai un importante contratto discografico che mi “costrinse” a sospendere gli studi per promuovere il mio album in Asia.
Da allora tantissime cose sono successe… Solo quando ho iniziato a lavorare come insegnate di canto ho riconsiderato la possibilità di terminare quegli ultimi esami che mi mancavano per concludere il percorso di studi universitari nel più prestigioso college di musica moderna al mondo.
Chi mi segue sa che ultimamente (prima del lockdown) ho viaggiato molto proprio per portare a termine questo percorso.
Permettetemi un po’ di vanità e orgoglio personale… mai avrei immaginato di ritornare a studiare a Berklee, ottenere una borsa di studio per meriti professionali e concludere questo percorso non solo con la Lode ma addirittura “Magna Cum Laude” 👨🎓
Proprio questo mese mi sarei dovuto trovare a Boston per festeggiare questo importante traguardo ma il virus ha cambiato i piani di tutti…
Berklee ci ha inviato le toghe che avremmo dovuto indossare durante la cerimonia e ha chiesto ad ognuno di noi di scattare una foto dalla propria città inserendo gli hashtag #berkleeanywhere e #berkleegrad2020
Eccomi qui in una Milano surreale e semideserta, solo ma insieme a tutti gli altri “graduate” che da ogni parte del mondo stanno vivendo la mia stessa esperienza.
