When we first saw a video of Popeye at South LA, he was pancaked to the ground in fear, completely shut down by the overwhelming shelter environment.
But even in the shelter, there was a glimpse of who he really was. In playgroup, surrounded by other dogs, he lit up. That scared, frozen boy transformed into a playful, social pup, and we knew there was a really special soul hiding just beneath the surface.
Fast forward to today… and Popeye is now living his best life as ‘Joe Armstrong’! 🥹
His amazing fosters made it official and gave him the forever home he always deserved. His new life is everything we hoped for and more!
Joe is thriving. He loves “helping” in the kitchen, happily hanging around while his family cooks. He’s discovered a love for gardening, enjoys long car rides, and is completely obsessed with other animals. He lives with a chihuahua-terrier mix and two cats and lets them all boss him around like the gentle, goofy boy he is 🤍
Thank you to his incredible adopters for seeing him, believing in him, and giving him the life he always deserved.
