Mezcalosfera Barril by Job Cortés, from the palenquero family Cortés in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca. Job is the son of Margarito and brother of Felipe, both of whom are represented in our shop with their own products.
This mezcal was made from Agave karwinskii in a copper pot still after spontaneous fermentation and grinding with a stone wheel (tahona).
Mezcalosfera is the brand name of Mezcaloteca, which is dedicated to collecting and promoting agave distillates. Owner Silvia Philon runs one of the first tasting rooms in Oaxaca City.
