Annem gittiğinden beri bir şey yazamadım. Yazacak bir şey bulamadım. Kelimem yoktu. Gittiğini kabul edecek gücüm yoktu.
Bir kaç gün önce, Cevherle kızarmış tavuk yerken, Cevher ‘annem derisini çok severdi’ dedi. Üç ay yoğun bakım, altı ay hastane, akciğer kanseri, bir sabah beşte uslu, sessiz gidişi, hiç biri bana gideceğini, gittiğini o kadar iyi anlatmamıştı.
Kızarmış tavuğun derisini sever miydi, bilmiyorum. Etrafındakileri doyurmayı, mutlu olduklarını görmeyi, gerebildiği herkese kol kanat germeyi çok severdi. Belki de tavuğun derisini sevmezdi, ama sevdiği yerlerini bize ayırdığı için yerken severmiş gibi yapardı. Bilmiyorum.

Son aylarında, çok güçsüzdü. İçime yıldırım gibi düşen bir kağıt parçası var evde. Hasta yatağında elleri titreyerek, teyzeme ‘sıkılıyorum, güçsüzüm’ yazmış. Bir kaç gün sonra da, bir sabah sessizce gitti. Hep yaptığı gibi, bir kuş gibi, kimseye ağırlığı olmadan gitti.
Yetmiş altı yıllık hayatını bize, sevdiklerine bakarak, doyurarak, bizim için dertlenerek, sevinerek geçirdi. Kendisiyle ilgili hayalleri var mıydı, bilmiyorum. Bizim için, Destan için hayalleri vardı. Bizim için hayal ettikleri gerçekleşsin diye belki de kendi hayallerini hep görmezden geldi, unutmayı seçti, bilmiyorum.
Ama hepimizin hayatının temeli oymuş, o gittiğinden beri hiç bir şey aynı değil. Onun da hasta yatağında, akciğer kanserinden kimbilir nasıl acılar çekerken, son günlerinde düşündüğü buydu. İyileşmeyi kendisi için değil, bize bakmaya devam edebilmek için istiyordu, biliyorum. Üzülmeyelim diye, bunu düşündüğünü bile belli etmemeye çalışıyordu. Kendisi için iyileşmek istiyor gibi yapıyordu.

Bir gece, 28 Mart 2024’te vücudu iflas etti. Hastaneye gittiğimizde kaybettiğimizden emindik. Yaşadı. Yoğun bakımda günler sonra uyandığında ‘iyi misiniz’ yazdı. Sonra ‘yemek yedin mi.’
Son günlerinde o kadar zayıflamıştı ki, Destan’la aynı kiloya düşmüştü. Bunda bile sevinecek, mutlu olacak bir şey buldu. ‘torıunumla aynı kilodayım’ dedi el işaretleriyle. Güldü.

Bugünün geleceğini hiç düşünmemiştim ama üç ülke, dört şehir, artık zor... Israr ettik, inat ettik ama olmuyor. İzmir ihmal edilmeyi sevmiyor. Biz de onu hak ettiği kadar yaşayamıyoruz.

Ama İzmir başka. İzmir'de yaşanan her şey hafızamda canlı.
Cevherle ilk taşındığımız gün, Destan'ın doğumu, Kıtmir'in, Cinka'nın, Miniş'in bize katılması. Vardiya ekibim, GIST ekibimiz, Genç Yaratıcı, yazdığım iki roman, çok özleyeceğim bir kaç insan, Alaçatı, Selçuk, Foça, Taka, Termal, Ekrem Abi.
Yaşadığımı, nefes aldığımı hissedebildiğim günler ve anılar.
Bu fotoğrafı da çekip bir tanecik Meltem'ime yollamıştım. Çok severdi burada içmeyi. Burası gibi Meltem de yok artık. Ansızın kalktı, gitti.
Dünyanın etrafında nefes almadan yaşanmış elli yıllık bir hayatın nefes alabildiğim, kendim olabildiğim, evim diyebildiğim tek yeriymiş İzmir ve İzmir'den bana kalan insanlar, anılar.
Ayrılma zamanı cennetim. Burada bir evimiz, yerimiz olmayacak artık. Soğuk Kuzey'e gittik biz.
Geri gelir miyiz bilmem, ama gelsek de seni bıraktığım gibi, özlediğim gibi, dolu dolu yaşadığım gibi bulamayacağımı iyi biliyorum.

It was sometimes a bumpy, but one hell of a beautiful & sexy ride. Even with three early checkout calls I got, I enjoyed every minute of it.
