Met pijn in mijn hart en tranen in mijn ogen… want hoe stop je met je levenswerk, hoe laat je iets achter waar je zoveel jaren voor hebt getraind, waar je alles voor hebt gelaten… maar je hebt je dromen en grote doelen niet kunnen waarmaken.
Afgelopen weken met de Olympische spelen zie je sporters medailles winnen en voelde ik blijdschap voor hen, je ziet de meeste sporters dagelijks en natuurlijk ken ik de ins en outs niet, maar ik krijg ook mee hoe hard ze ervoor werken en ik gun deze sporters dan ook echt deze beloning: en toch doet het aan de andere kant ook zoveel pijn. Want in mijn achterhoofd wist ik dat ik dit dus nooit meer zou halen, wanneer ik zou stoppen, dat een olympische medaille nooit meer iets is waar ik over zou kunnen dromen.
Maar het is goed zo, afgelopen vier jaar heb ik na mijn blessure en operati hard gewerkt om weer op mijn niveau te komen; om weer internationaal mee te strijden. Dat is zeker gelukt, met afgelopen november nog een vierde plek op de world cup en afgelopen weekend de 3e plek op het NK Allround.
Afgelopen jaar, de uitdaging, die ik samen met ben aangegaan om een samenwerking te maken tussen de en het was voor mij super waardevol. Ik heb echt genoten. Iedereen die mij in dit traject heeft ondersteund en geholpen; het was geweldig, bedankt.
IK MAG ENORM TROTS ZIJN op wat ik in alle jaren heb bereikt. Hoeveel plezier ik door en met de sport heb beleefd. Wat ik heb behaald. Ik mag even stil staan bij alle medailles, records en vriendschappen die er wel zijn. En Trots, dat ben ik.
Om dag in dag uit voor mijn sport te leven, daarvoor moet ik mijn sponsoren, hoe cliché ook, toch echt enorm bedanken, ik heb jullie logo’s met trots op mijn pak gedragen., en steunen mij al vanaf het begin en daar ben ik ze enorm dankbaar voor.
Ook, en hebben mij enorm geholpen.

Na de gravel wedstrijden met staat volgende week de eerste schaatswedstrijd op de planning! Na alle kampen en trainingen ben ik benieuwd naar wat ik deze winter mag en kan laten zien op het ijs!
Dit avontuur afgelopen maanden, met meerdere keren naar Polen te zijn afgereisd, het schaatsen in Inzell en het mooie fietsen in Calpe, wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door mijn sponsoren:
