Een dag waarop ik extra stilsta bij hoe dankbaar ik ben dat ik iedere dag mag werken met de meest energieke, enthousiaste en lieve kinderen. Het is een voorrecht om deel uit te maken van hun ontwikkeling en om elke dag hun spontaniteit, nieuwsgierigheid en plezier te mogen ervaren. Dat doe ik met zo ontzettend veel liefde en dankbaarheid.
Tegelijkertijd is deze dag voor mij ook een moment van reflectie. Mijn eigen kindertijd is niet altijd gemakkelijk geweest. Maar juist daardoor weet ik hoe belangrijk het is dat kinderen gezien, gehoord en gewaardeerd worden.

At the beginning, I was curious to see how the children would respond to this subject, as it can be quite sensitive. I thought they might not respond at all, but the opposite happened. I was surprised by how open and honest they were with me, even though they had never met me before. They shared their own experiences and things that had happened to them. We talked about these situations and looked for ways they could handle them in the future.
This is also part of my mission and connects to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, because bullying affects both mental and emotional well-being. By talking openly about bullying, I want to help children feel safe, supported, and confident in who they are.
I couldn’t tell them enough that whatever a bully says to you is absolutely not true. You are good enough and beautiful just the way you are, and don’t let anyone ever tell you differently. ❤️
