• Margarine: 500 g, room temperature
• Sugar: 450 g
• Eggs: 8, room temperature
• Flour: 475 g
• Milk: A little (only if needed)
• Vanilla: 2 tablespoons
• Baking powder: 2½ teaspoons

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a cake tray (grease or line as needed).
2. In a large bowl, beat the margarine and sugar together until well combined and creamy.
3. Crack in one egg at a time, beating well after each addition, until all 8 eggs are fully incorporated.
4. Sift and add the flour and baking powder in batches, beating until incorporated.
5. If the batter is too thick, add a little milk to adjust the consistency. If the mixture is already liquidy, skip the milk.
6. Add the vanilla and mix until everything is well combined.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tray and level the top.
8. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes, or until cooked through.
9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before cutting.
