Spotted yesterday at the Point, this little gem had everyone buzzing. But what made it extra special? Instead of doing what Cerulean Warblers typically do (forage high up in the tree canopy), this one was hanging out low to the ground.
Totally unusual behaviour, and absolutely magical to witness.

I rarely come here since it is 1hr and 10mins from me, but I always hear it never misses during migration season. I spotted a prothonotary warbler, red-headed woodpecker, nesting swans, and a snapper the size of a hubcap.

Fishing line is some of the most dangerous human-made hazards for waterbirds. It's nearly invisible, incredibly strong, and almost impossible for an animal to free itself from. It wraps around necks, wings, and legs — cutting off circulation, restricting movement, and in too many cases, ending in a slow death.
The hardest part? It is entirely preventable.
If you fish — please:
— Pack out every scrap of line, wire, and tackle.
— Never leave monofilament in or near the water.
— Use fishing line recycling bins where available. Many conservation areas and marinas have them.
