It’s become such a normal part of my life, but every now and then I stop and think about how special this little ritual actually is.
Starting with henna leaves that are dried and ground into powder, then mixing that powder into fresh paste, filling my cones and eventually applying it onto the skin.
There’s a whole journey before that henna ever reaches a bride’s hands.
And I think that’s partly why bridal henna itself can feel so grounding too. In amongst all the craziness and excitement of a wedding, those few hours sitting for your mehndi give you a chance to just sit, slow down and take it all in.
Something that started as a leaf ends up becoming part of such an important moment in someone’s life. The paste comes off, the stain develops, eventually it fades… but the memories attached to it can last forever. 🤎
From the leaves, to the paste, to the skin and then into the memories.
After all these years, I still feel incredibly blessed that this is something I get to do week after week, and something I never take for granted. 🙏🏼

Back then, bridal henna was much quicker — bigger elements, thicker cone tips, less structure and designs that could be completed in just a few hours.
Fast forward to 2026 and a full wrap-around bridal can now take me 7–8+ hours, including feet. The level of detail, structure, balance and precision has completely changed — and so has the way I work.
I’ve learnt to slow down. To refine my lines. To really think about how every element connects and flows into the next.
And above all, I’ve learnt that patience is key. ✨
I really appreciate the journey from then to now. When you’re constantly working, creating and trying to improve, you don’t always stop to see just how far you’ve come.
But one thing hasn’t changed… The passion. 🤎
25+ years later, I’m still learning, still evolving and still finding new ways to push my creativity. There’s always room to grow, no matter how long you’ve been doing something.

Some bridal appointments just give you those little memorable moments… and Shaan’s was definitely one of them. ❤️
Her stunning wedding lengha featured the most gorgeous peacock and flamingo details, so of course we had to take a little inspiration from it and weave them into her bridal henna.
And the flamingo… 🦩😍 My first EVER flamingo in a bridal design! I’ve wanted to create one in bridal henna for such a long time, so when I saw the details on Shaan’s lengha, it genuinely felt like a little moment of fate. ✨
I absolutely loved bringing elements of her outfit into the design and making her henna feel that little bit more personal and unique to her.
And to top off such a lovely appointment… I was treated to possibly the BEST matcha I’ve ever had from Sis & Sister’s! 🍵💚 Definitely one to remember!
