The Discovery: In June 1999, at age 36, Bhagat was rushed to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai with severe breathing difficulties caused by his swollen abdomen.
The Surgery: Dr. Ajay Mehta, who performed the surgery, initially suspected a large tumor. Upon opening the abdomen, he found a partially formed human body that had been living parasitically, connected to Bhagat’s blood supply.
The Parasitic Twin: The twin was undeveloped but contained long hair, limbs, jawbones, and genitalia. It had been growing inside him since birth, sustained by his blood supply.
Aftermath: Bhagat recovered well and his breathing issues ceased. He was reportedly not interested in seeing the twin removed from his body.
