I’ve been painting since 2012, and for over 13 years now, art has been my way of understanding the world and expressing myself. It started small, just me and my work, figuring things out one piece at a time, and somehow, it has led me here.
The last 4 years in Canada have truly changed me. I came in with a lot of hope and uncertainty, starting as a production painter, learning from the ground up, assisting artists across Vancouver, observing, making mistakes, and growing every single day. Step by step, I found my way to creating my own solo mural projects, something I once only imagined.
To every mentor, every artist, every collaborator, and every person who trusted me with an opportunity, thank you. Your guidance, your time, and your belief in me have shaped not just my work, but who I am today. I carry a piece of every experience with me.
This feature feels like a quiet moment to pause and look back, but I know I’m still at the beginning. This is just the foundation.
There is so much more I want to create, so much more I want to explore. I’m excited to keep pushing myself, to take bigger risks, and to collaborate with more amazing people across Vancouver and Canada.

This mural project was painted as part of the Astro Arts Festival in Vancouver. Standing an incredible 20 feet wide and 16 feet tall, it marks a major milestone for me, my first big mural in the city I now call home. Finally completing it feels like so much more than finishing a painting; it’s a personal landmark, a moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
The piece moves beyond the conventions of a typical sports mural. Instead of a direct depiction of football, it layers multiple photographs of Ryan Gauld within abstract shapes split and reimagined from the Whitecaps’ iconic Logo. The composition weaves together identity, motion, and hidden symbolism, inviting viewers to discover the game within the abstraction.
Painting this during the Astro Arts Festival was an intense, rewarding journey. Each layer of paint brought more life to the wall, each stroke carrying both the energy of the crowd and my own drive to create something worthy of the space. Seeing it all come together at this scale, for the first time in Vancouver, has been overwhelming in the best way, a reminder of why I create, and how art can connect sport, place, and people in a single image.
I am deeply grateful to Drew Young and the entire team at Astro Arts Facility for their support, guidance, and belief in this project from the very first sketch to the last stroke. Drew’s mentorship throughout the process pushed me to think differently about portraiture, to move beyond simple compositions and explore layered, conceptual approaches that merge realism with abstraction. That shift in perspective has permanently expanded, how I will approach my work.
A special thank-you to my friends who showed up every single day on site to help me paint the background of the mural and to step in with whatever extra help was needed, your presence made this process both possible and unforgettable.
