Over the years, many of my teachers and even students’ mothers have given me pieces of clothing and dresses. I’ve worn them on and off stage, and somehow they always made me feel protected… and confident 🌟
So to be part of the tradition I’d like to begin passing some of my own performance dresses on 👗
This is the first one 🍇
It’s a floor length purple evening gown that I have played Beethoven Piano Concerto No.3 and other memorable performances in.
I’d love for it to go to someone in Vienna or Salzburg, so I can give it to you in person 🤍

It feels special to let something continue its story through someone else.
I guess you know the painting, but in Escher’s image, two hands draw each other into existence. There is no clear beginning, no single author ✍️ I am very sensitive to the words “create” and for me it feels like an exchange between creator and created.
I feel something similar when the theme returns after its journey through modulation. At the beginning, the piano leads. Later, the violin brings the theme back first, and I follow. In that moment, I become the “shadow,” the one being shaped. Somewhat the less defined line that gains meaning through the other voice.
This shift made me acutely aware of listening, of timing, of color. It pushed me to discover new layers in my playing, through pedaling, voicing, and touch, that I worked with professor Monti extensively…..🙏 ways of blending, echoing, and responding rather than initiating.
What a joy to perform César Franck’s Violin Sonata in A major with Maria, truly one of my favorite chamber works of all time 🎻 Written in 1886 as a wedding gift for the great violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, this sonata is a masterpiece of cyclical form, where themes return and transform across movements, creating a deeply unified and emotional journey 🛤️🤍
And that fourth movement… pure light🌬️After all the intensity and longing, it feels like everything finally breathes🫧radiant, flowing, and full of quiet triumph. Playing it felt both exhilarating and deeply grounding.( I have to say it was a little too much that my legs started to shake after two pages which made it extremely challenging to using the foot Pedal to turn pages )
So excited to keep exploring this piece and live in its world a little longer. And truly if anyone wants to play Franck with me, I am always up for it 🤍
I want to share this because it helped me tremendously, even though I have to say I was quite suspicious before I actually started. I’ve had performance coaching before as part of university, and sometimes I even felt worse afterwards. Being told things I already do, as if that would solve everything… and then when it doesn’t work the way you want it to, you just feel like you’re failing.
This was a completely different experience🫀
We talked about so many things, not just playing. Routine, body training, boundaries, self-confidence. And also things I had honestly never really spoken about in this context before. Since my coach is a woman, we also spoke about how you’re not in the same state throughout the month, and how that affects your performance, and what you can actually do with that. I’m sure so many of us experience this, but I had never addressed it like this before. It helped me so much.
We also worked very practically with pieces, but in a way that opened something. That it’s not always just “practice” or work. That you can also play, explore, enjoy as part of preparing.
This is a Bach I recorded right after one of the sessions. And somehow it just felt so free, so beautiful, so full of love. I really wanted to share that feeling — the music, the place, and a bit of what this process has been for me.
I have so much more I could say, but for now I’ll leave it here.
If you’re interested in the coaching, you can message me privately 🤍
No scales, no études, no repertoire. Not even listening to music, Nothing.
When I made the decision to return, it was like waking up from a very long sleep and suddenly realizing I had only a tiny window of time to prepare myself for entrance exams and auditions. Looking back, the worries adults around me expressed make a lot of sense, but I had decided I had to try, even if it meant doing strange, eccentric things just to catch up. Some examples I can remember are having a stopwatch around my neck at all times and stopping it even for the tiniest things such as going to the toilet or drinking water. (Now, I truly believe it’s not about the time you spend but to know what you want to get done and simply doing it, so it can accumulate up to 8 or even more hours a day but that’s not the goal.) or not eating or sleeping until „I can play“ or memorize the piece, which also sounds so incredibly naive 🤣 I also went up the same hill that has a shrine for 100 days everyday to pray that I get accepted to the university. I was also obsessed with finger exercises such as cortot or Chopin, hanon, czerny……any etudes I could get my hands on. I practiced obsessively and excessively without contact to the world literally locking myself in my piano room.
(Btw I would never recommend those methods to anyone, by the way.)
The journey back was messy, chaotic, emotional, and honestly ridiculous but it also taught me the power of choosing something with your whole being, even when you feel impossibly behind.
So, what now? To truly „feel“ not just remember facts of what I did but to feel how that was the best thing to put you through the routine.
Scales, arpeggios and cortot, and two new Chopin etudes op.10-2 and op.25-6 😈👿
Let’s see where this goes! Would you be interested in daily updates?
