Why do tile contractors act like this is hard work? Skating through this Thursday.. #tile #construction #building
When you walk into an old house, you expect squeaks. I don’t like squeaks, so we went above and beyond to get rid of them. This was a fun process, considering 100 year old homes have been floored over a few times! We tour up linoleum, tile, and much more.. #construction #renovation #building
#ad We teamed up with ScotchBlue™ PROSharp™ Painter’s Tape to do this accent wall in the living room at one of our houses. When it comes to a project like this, crisp, sharp lines are the first thing people notice. With the Edge Lock+™ technology, we get the ScotchBlue’s™sharpest lines.*
—
Pro-Tip: Always tape your border first, then tape all of your shapes or design. This allows you to pull your design tape lines individually, then finish it off with the border. ##scotchpainterstape

Crazy to think there was a time when subfloors were just nailed down with no adhesive at all. As plywood and OSB started replacing solid plank subfloors in the late 60s and 70s, builders ran into a huge problem, squeaky floors. Nails would loosen over time, the subfloor would move against the joists, and entire houses would creak when you walked through them.
—
That’s when subfloor adhesive started changing the industry. Instead of relying only on nails, builders began gluing subfloors directly to the framing, creating a stiffer, quieter, stronger floor system. One simple bead of adhesive completely changed how homes felt underfoot. #construction #building #framing
I spent the last year on and off renovating this property of ours. What started as a run down hoarder house has quietly turned into the nicest property in the neighborhood. If you’re in the blue collar workforce, you should be renovating properties like this..
—
This was a hoarder house and had trash piled up everywhere. Cases and cases of beer cans crushed and left under the house where he’d hang out. I’ve heard horror stories from everyone I’ve talked to about this house, including the local police department who had a track record of visiting this address.

Take a look at this house! This is a must have for contractors, subcontractors and remodelers. The 3D Scan Tool makes this process too easy, I walked this home and all of 5 minutes had a layout, all R.O.’s and a plan that I can take back to the office to make changes on.

We want to..
— Open The Floor Plan
— Increase Bathroom Size
— Relocate Fireplace
— Improve Overall Function..

By planning ahead, these things can be mapped out long before we ever tear into a wall. We know what’s happening and where, proper planning is everything on a build like this. #remodel #construction #building
The boss let me take the work truck home for the weekend and I’ve got a fuel card now, so we went to the dunes and let her rip. Did pretty good for an 8,000lb worn out work truck. Don’t tag my boss, please. #construction #building #framing
I bought this house as an example to mine and the next generation that with a bit of money, not being afraid to get dirty and make mistakes.. You can turn a dump of a house like this one, into something anyone would be proud to live in. We’re too stuck in this idea that everyone starts their life in a $1.4M 4-bed house.. What happened to starter homes?
—
This series started less than 6 weeks ago and has soared past 1.2M+ views over on YouTube. I’m showing every corner of the house, top to bottom. Im self performing nearly every trade, and we’re wrapping up on this place quicker than I expected. Want to know what I spent? It’s all out there to the public.. I’m going to show you exactly what sweat equity really is and how to achieve it.
—
My wife did all of our interior design and selections, she killed it on this house with the layout. For a small space, it flows well but also achieves all of the higher end products / finishes we wanted included here. #remodel #construction #1926MBW
The “stigma” in the industry.. I had the pleasure of talking with yesterday to go over what social media has done to the space. We’re making it appealing. Years ago you’d see guys in their 50’s, beat up from this industry over the last 30 years. It’s hard to see that and go, “I want to be like that!”.
—
You look at guys like, who I’ve looked up to for years, happily framing away in Washington, adventuring on the weekends. who has built a ton of incredible buildings, all while being a good family man. To who’s newer in the space and starting a family, settling down while cranking out massive projects. Paul with who doesn’t even need to be on social in the slightest, spitting game that ANYONE to take in. The list goes on and this isn’t any one of us making a change, it takes us all..
—
Whether you believe it or not, if you’re on social media sharing your life, your projects, the work you do, you’re part of this conversation. Huge thanks to for having me on yesterday, and for having me on this morning to let me talk a bit about the industry I’ve spent the last decade and a half working in. Thank you for putting a few of us in the spotlight as well, you’ve elevated our voices to a level that’s well-needed.

Worried about sound? Here’s your answer.
—
2x6 plate with 2x4 studs staggered 8” O.C… or 2x8” plate with 2x6” studs like the detail I just shared last week. This works perfect for removing sound transfer from one room to the next. Staggered framing like this is where sound goes to die.
—
Spotted on project in Coronado, CA while filming for On The Road Episode #3. Have you ever used a detail like this? If so, did it work well? We love this paired with products.
