From painting and aging all the walls and doors, floor to ceiling, all the way to painting almost the entire dark wood pieces throughout the set, it was such a fun experience seeing this set unfold along with my Gal Pals! When family and friends ask “What did you guys paint”, it’s always a funny question! The proper response almost always is “EVERYTHING”😅 plus give or take a prop here and there ✨

Creativity, from my experience, doesn’t always mean healthy. Most days, creativity isn’t kind, sometimes agressive. To me, it always meant there was pressure inside of me. Pressure to cope, pressure to speak through colors and linework, and a pressure to produce due to an unbearable thought that may be too heavy to carry within my body. I asked myself, “who am I without creating?” And the answer was simpler than I thought.
I’m at peace.
Often, peace can look eerie because our movements are changing. Peace can feel upsetting because we are forced to take a breath when we’re not ready to exhale. Yet, peace is what we strive for as the aftermath of our creativity. So why does it feel so unsettling? This year, I learned that creativity takes not only courage, but a reboot internally. Creating without a tangible reason can be beautiful, but it can often breed into a factory. For me, building and curating a mental space to be an observer of life and a curious mind without the pressure to produce is much kinder to my creative soul.
Now the question is, what will my art look like when I carry my life in peace, and what will be of The Girls with this new rhythm of life?

This weekend was the opening and artist reception of my solo show, Internal Wonder inside Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon.
To say it was fun is an understatement.. it was truly a magical afternoon ✨ From the warm welcome of the amazing team behind Archimedes, to hugging some of my closest people and new friends in a different state for The Girls, I couldn’t ask for anything better. Shoutout to Mr Chris, my adorable parents, Michael and Rich, and to many new friends who came down from Portland that took the time to travel to Oregon for the weekend!
And lastly, to my best friend in the entire world Denette and Manny, thank you for surprising me in my first out-of-state solo show. We always said growing up that we would always be there for each other especially for the big moments, and my heart won’t ever forget it.🥹

So Wild! Thank you to for honoring my work and hosting their inaugural North County Art Awards this year. The nomination a few months ago was a surprise in itself, so to win Best Artist Of The Year was an even bigger surprise.😅
I moved my public studio in North County exactly a year ago for the purpose of reaching out to a new audience and to share my work with part of San Diego I hardly got to know growing up. The Girls were eager to experience different stories and a new setting, but most of all, they were eager to learn. I just felt it in my gut to move on and forward. The moment I moved up, more opportunities and doors started to open. From the Oceanside Museum exhibition, to the continuous shows I’ve been able to participate in inside EAP, it’s just been an ongoing creative ride with 2026 offering my first Solo Exhibition outside California. To be honored this past weekend with all of my other creative neighbors and friends reminded me that my gut feeling, as my best friend would say, is “always on 👏🏼 point 👏🏼”

Here’s to one of the greatest experiences of my art career so far. This spring and summer season marked my first full museum exhibition, spanning two rooms featuring 20+ painted surfaces, 3 murals, a new sculpture, and a display wall showcasing my relationship to Sleep, the Dream State, and the disturbances from my CPAP machine.
I’ve learned so much working with the museum, and I can’t thank Katie and the entire OMA team enough for trusting my process to create this exhibit from scratch! This entire exhibit was done in under 4 months, truly depicting the state of affairs of my insomnia and the haunting beauty that comes with losing sleep.
I’m beyond grateful to all of you who came to see the work in person, those who came to the celebration or the tours, and those who came in to take it in as it was intended. You have no idea what that means to me as an artist and a person who just loves the fuck out of making art and sharing that work with those around me. ❤️
With the show officially closed, the pieces will temporarily be displayed inside the Escondido Arts Partnership studio and will begin its exhibition run outside San Diego in 2026.
