It is a character piece for piano, inspired by renewal in nature and the image of a slowly unfolding sunrise.
In a time that can sometimes feel uncertain, the piece reflects a longing for change and the belief that something meaningful and positive can still find its way, shaped by how we feel, connect, think, and act 🤍
Even though this piece asks for a little more advanced piano playing, I still hope it may find a home with a pianist somewhere and perhaps become part of their musical journey 🎹✨

A small collection of piano moments I deeply love, captured in oil.
It’s probably no secret anymore how much I’m drawn to painting, especially oil paintings. There’s something timeless in them, something that feels close to music…
And when a painting shows a piano, I must admit, I become a little biased.
Maybe it’s because I can almost feel it.
The touch of the keys beneath the fingers, the softness of a pianissimo, the resonance that lingers in the room long after the sound has faded.
Looking at these works, I don’t just see them, I hear them.
Some of these paintings are well known, others perhaps less so. I hope there is at least one here you haven’t seen before.

It’s an early printed score of my piano waltz (Walzer in German), which I composed as a teenager back in 1994.
If you look and listen closely, you might even notice a small mistake in the score — one I only corrected almost 30 years later when it was finally published. 😆
This piece holds such beautiful memories. I gifted it to my grandmum for her 80th birthday, and it always reminds me how much my grandparents and parents encouraged me to explore my creativity, especially through music and piano. 🎹✨
