As cliche as it sounds, fitness is a lifelong journey with many chapters.
I’ve been strength training since my mid teens and will continue to lift for as long as I’m living and able.
Over the last few years, I’d been struggling to maintain the high intensity and frequency of my workouts. While it took me a while to accept the inevitable but natural decline in my ability to lift heavy and often as i age, now that i have, I feel great.
As it turns out, less can be more if the quality and programming is right. I now train 2-3 days per week instead of 4-5 and I feel far better for it. My health and fitness goals have shifted after from getting swole and hitting personal bests to more energy and maintaining what i’ve built. It’s about listening to my body and adapting to my needs as apposed to pushing myself regardless of how I feel.
Now. This isn’t to say that I would have trained less intensely when i was younger. Absolutely not. There’s a time and a place for beasting it but my time, until my body suggests otherwise, has passed.
Here’s to less of more! 💪
If you’re looking for ways to implement or adapt your training as you age, dm me. I offer personal training and coaching in Barcelona and online.

1. Learn to read food nutrition labels. Those fuckers and sneaky.
5. Eat seasonally. It’s fresher, tastier and more nutritious than food consumed out of season.
24. Chew your food. It’s not a race!
3. Drink a pint of water before breakfast. It doesn’t need to be warm or even have lemon in it.
4. Opt for wholegrain over refined carbs (flour, bread, rice, pasta, etc). It contains fiber.
17. Eat a variety of colors. The more colorful the plate, the broader the spectrum of nutrients.
6. Keep an eye out for “hidden” sugars.
Dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose, maltose, and sucrose are just some of the names used to disguise sugar in our foods. Read the label.
12. Eat fruit, don’t drink it.
13. Tune into how you feel after a meal. Sleepy isn’t a good symptom, energy is!

While my estimated timeframe may have been grossly underestimated, the end result was the same.
As always, a massive thank you to a place that will forever feel like home ❤️
Onto the next chapter. Barcelona 2.0!

A super mum with a super bum. A tech nerd that thinks she's a race-car driver. With questionable music tastes and movie selection, she never fails to surprise me. The perfect smile. My biggest fan and supporter during a difficult moment of change. Always willing to sit in the mud with me when times are tough. My partner in crime 🖤
Toasty sun traps, mountains, beaches and sunsets, slow outdoor workouts, family, new friends and all the time in the world to slow down, recharge and focus on the things that matter most. My batteries are recharged ⚡️

2: Took 5g of Turmeric to reduce inflammation.
3: Used 100% natural Aloe Vera for skin health (straight from the plant). I may have gotten a little overzealous with this one! It could be related to number 7.
4: Took 5g of Creatine per day for Physical performance.
5: Took 500mg of Glucosamine/ Chondroitin per day to counter the Osteoarthritis in my neck.
6: Did a daily 20-minute full-body stretching routine for pain reduction and better recovery.

If you want to work your legs but find that all of your traditional bilateral leg exercises (squats, hip thrusts etc) are too easy without weight, these 5 exercises are great to challenge your legs and iron out any imbalances.
All you need is a TRX, a step and if the weather is nice, some shorts and shades.
