I used to think rizq meant provision in the obvious sense. Money. Stability. Things you can point to. But then there’s the kind of provision no one sees. Feeding your child. Sustaining a life quietly, day after day. Giving without ever feeling like you’re “giving.” Just doing what your body somehow knows how to do. That, too, is rizq.
And then the concept of barakah it shows up in places you don’t expect. In small wins. It’s when food for 2 becomes enough for 3. It’s when 10 minutes feel like an hour. When a night of 2 hours of sleep becomes sufficient to keep you going the entire day. In moments that don’t look impressive from the outside but leave your heart strangely full. In giving and realizing nothing is actually lost. In knowing, deeply, that not even the smallest good goes unnoticed from the one who created us.
Tawakkul has been the hardest to learn. Doing everything you can, and then releasing the outcome. Trusting that God is already where you’re headed. That even when things feel uncertain, they aren’t unheld.
Motherhood forces you into that kind of trust. Over and over again.
So to any mother reading this: what’s meant for you will reach you. It always does. Life may feel unpredictable, but somehow, it still gives exactly what’s needed. Alhamdulilah for it all.
Motherhood has taught me so much about these 3 concepts in Islam & I thought I share because these ideas have genuinely changed the way I see life. The way I see provision (rizq), blessings (barakah), and trust (tawakkul) As well as the way you see yourself.

I used to play Barbie with my sisters growing up, and now I get to sit on the floor playing with my girls. My heart honestly feels so full. Seeing Hannah’s reaction to the set was completely priceless.

Some of my personal favourites for next year:
Pen Pals 💌 came to life through the dreamiest handwritten menus, ice-blue drinks, and dishes delivered like love letters from the future.
Cabbage 🥬 yes, cabbage was reimagined as sculptural, elegant centrepieces that somehow felt both organic and couture.
And then their was the Opera Aesthetic. Rich, theatrical,opulent. We even had a live opera singer performing as we dined, it honestly felt so surreal.
Touches of Poetcore and FunHaus played through the space with soft, romantic textures meeting joyful, whimsical design.
It felt like being inside a story, one written with intention, creativity, and so much heart.
And standing there, in the middle of all of it, I just felt… grateful. Like truly truly grateful to be invited into rooms like this.

We haven’t had a London staycation in the longest time and it was such a fun way to make memories with H!
We loved because it was super family friendly. Upon arrival H received welcome drinks which included warm milk along with a sticker book. Our room had a lovely cot and stuffed toy set up for her and she loved the beautiful bath tub!
The staff was super lovely and so accommodating for H and accommodating our halal dietary requirement.
