„All that she wants“ ist so ein Bild.
Es war eines meiner ersten Werke, in denen ich einen selbst hergestellten Holzschnitt mit Malerei verbunden habe. Den Druck habe ich damals bewusst zerrissen, bevor ich die Fragmente in die Malerei eincollagierte.
Ein entscheidender Schritt für mich. Denn plötzlich war der Druck nicht mehr nur ein eigenständiges grafisches Werk, sondern wurde Teil eines größeren Ganzen. Ich konnte ihn aufbrechen, verändern, übermalen und in einen neuen Zusammenhang bringen.
Rückblickend war das ein Meilenstein in meiner künstlerischen Entwicklung. Vieles von dem, was meine Mixed-Media-Arbeiten heute ausmachen, hat hier seinen Anfang genommen.
„All that she wants“ ist inzwischen verkauft. Aber es gehört zu den Arbeiten, die für mich ihre Bedeutung nie verlieren werden.
Nicht jedes wichtige Bild muss noch im Atelier stehen. Manche haben längst ihren Platz gefunden und bleiben trotzdem ein Teil der eigenen Geschichte.

Eigentlich sollte es eine abstrakte Landschaft werden. Viel Farbe, Bewegung, ohne festgelegtes Ziel.
Aber dann kam dieser Moment, in dem ich dachte: Nö, heute lieber etwas Figürliches. Zwei Frauen, ein bisschen Bauch, ein bisschen Eigenwilligkeit und bloß keine perfekten Körper.
Und plötzlich standen sie da. Allerdings noch ohne die richtige Badekappe. Die musste natürlich auch noch sein!
Was ihr hier seht, ist kein fertiges Bild, sondern ein Zwischenstand. Es fehlen noch etliche Farbschichten, Überarbeitungen und vermutlich auch ein paar Entscheidungen, die ich heute noch gar nicht auf dem Schirm habe.
Genau das liebe ich an der Malerei: Ein Bild darf seine Richtung ändern. Und ich meine Meinung auch.

Manche Bilder tragen nicht nur ihre eigene Geschichte in sich, sondern auch die Erinnerung an den Ort und die Zeit, in der sie entstanden sind.
Dieses Tondo entstand während eines Sommers am Bodensee, auf einer Malreise mit befreundeten Künstlerinnen. Tage voller Kunst, Gespräche, gemeinsames Arbeiten und natürlich all die Dinge, die man vorher nicht planen kann.
Der Untergrund besteht aus den handgeschriebenen Seiten eines alten Theaterbuchs. Darauf habe ich einen selbst geschnittenen Linoldruck der Frauenfigur gesetzt und ihn mit Malerei, grafischen Elementen und Collage weitergeführt.
Vielleicht passt der Titel deshalb so gut: „Things you didn’t expect“. Denn gerade das Unerwartete bringt eine Arbeit manchmal an einen Punkt, den man zu Beginn selbst noch nicht kannte.

Auch im neuen Jahr geht es in meinem Atelier ums Ausprobieren, Verwerfen, Übermalen und Weiterdenken. Um Linien, die ihren eigenen Weg gehen, Figuren, die sich Raum nehmen, satte Farbe und jede Menge Mixed Media.

Im Gegenteil. Im Workshop geht es um den eigenen Weg und die eigene Bildsprache. Aber manchmal reichen Worte allein nicht aus. Gerade bei neuen Techniken oder ungewohnten Arbeitsschritten hilft es, wirklich zu sehen, was gemeint ist: Wie setze ich den Pinsel an? Wie viel Farbe nehme ich? Was passiert, wenn ich eine Fläche überarbeite, etwas stehen lasse oder spontan reagiere?
Deshalb male ich einzelne Schritte vor. Nicht als Vorlage zum Nachmachen, sondern als sichtbare Erklärung. Danach darf jede Teilnehmerin daraus etwas ganz Eigenes entwickeln.
Und meistens beginnt genau dort der spannendste Teil: wenn aus dem Gezeigten fünf völlig unterschiedliche Lösungen entstehen. 😊🎨

Zwei intensive, fröhliche Tage mit fünf Teilnehmerinnen, viel Farbe und ganz unterschiedlichen Ideen liegen hinter uns.
Im Mittelpunkt stand das prozessorientierte Arbeiten. Nicht von Anfang an wissen, wie das fertige Bild aussehen soll, sondern Schicht für Schicht entwickeln, reagieren, verändern, übermalen und auch mal etwas wieder loslassen.
Ausgehend vom Thema Summer Vibes entstanden Arbeiten mit Früchten und floralen Formen, mit Zeichnung, Malerei, Mustern und leuchtenden Farbflächen. Und obwohl alle mit ähnlichen Impulsen gearbeitet haben, trägt jedes Bild ganz klar die eigene Handschrift.
Es wurde ausprobiert, gelernt, konzentriert gearbeitet und ziemlich viel gelacht. 😊 Genau diese Mischung mag ich an meinen Workshops.
