Here is one of my “things did not go according to plan” moments ✨

This piece actually started as a big A4 shadowbox - the biggest shadowbox I was about to make. But halfway through the process, I realized the original idea wasn’t really working - the frame was too big, the pieces too small, it wasn’t stable and looked too loose.. so instead of forcing it, I changed direction and just started experimenting.

Honestly, most of my favourite projects happen exactly this way. Either from sketching without a specific goal, playing around with leftover paper pieces, or simply allowing the artwork to evolve into something unexpected along the way - just like here.

I think there’s something really beautiful about staying flexible during the creative process and letting the piece tell you what it needs.

So here’s a little story about this unexpected collage 💛 I’d love to know what you think!

A slightly different video than usual 🙌

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my shadow box frames, so I thought I’d show you the ones I use myself and share a little bit about how they are made - while I pack your orders ❤️

These are the same frames and spacers that appear in pretty much all of my paper art projects, so if you’ve ever wondered what is hiding behind all those layers, here’s a little peek behind the scenes.

And if you have any questions about shadowboxes, templates, paper art, or the frames themselves, let me know in the comments - I always enjoy chatting about creative projects ✨

I shared a tiny snippet of this experiment in my stories, and received so many lovely reactions, so I thought I’d share a little bit more here ✨

This is one of my latest paper craft experiments - made from packaging cardboard that was simply too interesting to throw away…

Lately, I’ve been really drawn to the idea of using overlooked/discarted materials and seeing how far I can transform them into something beautiful. Packaging, envelopes, leftover paper… I love the challenge of giving these materials a second life.

These cardstock birds still feel very much like an experiment, but it definitely inspired me to explore larger formats more often.

Let me know what are your latest creative experiments ☺️

And also… what would you do with these two birds? Any ideas are welcome 💛

A little wildflower field made from paper 🌾 Yellow flowers, red flowers, and a few little butterflies.

I always find it fascinating how the shadowbox slowly grows layer by layer, so I thought I’d share this one with you.

Over the past months I’ve been filming my whole process - from planning and painting to cutting, layering, and assembly - and turning it into a detailed beginner guide.

I’m preparing the launch now, and newsletter subscribers will get the first access + an early discount link 🌿

Let me show you how I made this shadow box ✂️

1. I started with a quick sketch and then coloured everything on my iPad (using Procreate app).
2. I made sure to draw all the elements separately, so they could be layered later.
3. Then I printed everything on lightweight cardstock.
4. I’ve cut out all the shapes - one by one. I firstly did more complex, intricate shapes like flowers and then more simple ones like houses.
5. Once all the pieces were ready, I assembled my paper frames, and glued all my elements to the layer frames.
6. I used double-sided tape and foam tape to glue everything together and create depth + small shadow effects.
7. Finally, I stacked everything inside the frame. I also added some spacers to build the full 3D look.
8. And that’s it - a colourful layered shadow box is ready! 🌸
If you’d like to make your own, I turned this into a template - you’ll find it in my link in bio. Happy crafting 💛

Here’s my latest shadowbox - and I am very happy with how it turned out 🌸

This is the first piece I painted entirely on my iPad. I sketched and painted everything digitally, then printed the layers on lightweight photo paper, cut them out, and assembled everything by hand into the shadowbox frame.

I still love working with watercolours and gouache, but exploring this mix of digital and handmade feels really exciting. It opens up so many new possibilities and little creative experiments.

And yes - I turned this one into a template ✂️ You can print and cut it with Circuit, or print, colour, and assemble it by hand - whatever suits your process best. And as always, thank you so much for your support - here’s 15% off: PAPERART15 💛

It’s been a while since I’ve shared my art experiments here… so here’s something new ✨

This is a shadow box, but a bit different than usual - I painted everything on my iPad. I recently rediscovered the Procreate all and created the whole piece digitally using their default gouache brushes. Then I printed all the elements individually, cut everything by hand with my craft knife, and assembled it the way I usually build my shadow boxes.

I’m really enjoying exploring new ways of creating collage art, and this is definitely a direction I want to keep developing. I’ll always love working with paint, but I’m equally excited about combining digital and paper techniques like this.

What do you think about this style? Would you like to see more of it? And I’m curious - what have you been experimenting with lately? ❤️🌷
