Marina est arrivĂ©e un peu avant le canon, Ă moto, bermuda en jean noir, veste de survĂȘt rouge, sacoche, gourde, casque au poignet et longboard Ă la main (un gros skate, pour les non-initiĂ©s). Contre la paroi de la vĂ©randa du Bistrot Jennifer, face au marchĂ© aux fleurs, sa planche, elle lâa posĂ©e prĂ©cautionneusement. Elle ne plaisante pas avec. « Jây tiens beaucoup. Si je suis avec dans la rue et quâon me dit « je peux essayer? » en mettant son pied dessus, je dĂ©teste ça. Câest comme si tu me touchais moi. Câest une extension de mon corps. Et je nâaime pas me sentir envahie dans mon espace vital. »
On comprend vite que la longboardeuse ne se laisse pas trop contrarier, de maniĂšre gĂ©nĂ©rale. Quand des gars font semblant de se jeter sur les filles qui skatent pour leur faire peur, elle descend de sa planche et va les voir. « Je leur dis: « Parce que je suis une femme, tu essaies de mâintimider? Tu fais le malin? Tiens ma planche, vas-y, montre-moi. » Et ils partent tĂȘte baissĂ©e. » Gros caractĂšre. On comprend vite aussi quâil en faut quand on est une longboardeuse noire, tatouĂ©e, Ă dreadlocks, qui aime une femme et les piercings, et qui skate sur la promenade des Anglais. Avant de devenir la queen de la Promâ, il a fallu se lâapproprier cet espace. Oser se joindre aux garçons, apprendre Ă faire signe aux promeneurs de se pousser avant de sâĂ©lancer...
