Per la prima volta ho provato a raccontare Mazara attraverso la fotografia. È successo durante un workshop organizzato da il 13 e 14 dicembre 2024, guidato da. Oggi quelle immagini sono esposte al Complesso di San Carlo Borromeo.
Da quei due giorni mi sono portato a casa molto più di qualche scatto: un nuovo modo di vedere. Da videomaker, sono abituato a narrazioni lineari, ma il workshop mi ha fatto capire la differenza: nel video racconto cosa succede, nella fotografia scelgo cosa resta. Il video è un viaggio che scorre, la fotografia è un’emozione che si addensa.
Ho imparato che prima di fotografare, devi sentire. Non si tratta di cercare lo scatto perfetto, ma quello vero. Una foto mossa, “sporca”, scattata senza pretese tecniche spesso dice più di un’immagine patinata. Dice che ero lì – non solo come testimone, ma come parte di quel momento.
Queste immagini sono il mio modo di stare a casa, anche quando casa è così familiare da diventare invisibile. Ho smesso di guardare Mazara e ho iniziato a vederla.
