a 1970s inspired vinyl playset created by artist

âI envisioned something playful, colorful, and interactiveâsomething that would let people, especially children, build their own imaginative worlds. Growing up in the 70s, I loved vinyl playsets featuring superheroes and other pop culture icons. These sets came with removable vinyl stickers that could be placed on themed backgrounds, sparking hours of creative play. For Space Garden, I designed both âdayâ and ânightâ baseboards for the set. The bases are square and without a defined horizon, intentionally left open to encourage free placement of the space and floral elements. This open format was partly inspired by Paul Kleeâs garden paintings, which similarly blur boundaries and invite interpretation.â
