It was a big one for me running wise. It was my first London Marathon. I had just qualified as a solicitor and took a month of leave in February / March to go skiing in Japan. Probably wouldn’t have been the worst marathon prep was it not for the copious amounts of alcohol consumed every evening 🫠
My dad ran it the same year. My first, his last. He beat me. In all seriousness it was pretty cool to do it at the same time 🥇
Immediately after London I was disappointed with my time so signed up to do the Edinburgh Half marathon months later which was actually an amazing race and one I’d love to do again.
Life looked so different back then. It was more glamorous but less fulfilling. Easier in many ways but harder in others. I definitely think I prefer 2026. ☺️

I’ve long had a dream to run the Marathon Majors and after applying for Chicago for a few years in a row and not getting a place when an opportunity arose to run is for I jumped at the chance!
