El globo avanzaba sin ruido, suspendido entre siglos como si el tiempo fuese solo una corriente más del aire. El piloto, un hombre de barba cansada y ojos atentos, ajustó las cuerdas mientras las agujas del cronómetro temporal vibraban con un murmullo eléctrico. No viajaba por el cielo: viajaba por las eras.
Sacó su catalejo, herencia de otro viaje y de otro yo, y lo orientó hacia el horizonte nocturno. Entonces la vio.
La estrella de Oriente brillaba con una intensidad imposible, fija y serena, ajena al caos de los calendarios que él había dejado atrás. No era una estrella cualquiera: era un punto de anclaje, un faro que se repetía intacto en cada época que atravesaba. Pasado, presente y futuro parecían inclinarse ante su luz.
Mientras el globo descendía lentamente hacia una noche antigua hogueras lejanas, caminos de polvo, voces aún por nacer, el piloto comprendió que aquel viaje no era para cambiar nada. Solo para atestiguar.
Bajó el catalejo, cerró los ojos un instante y dejó que el globo siguiera su curso. La estrella permanecía allí, eterna, recordándole que incluso en un universo donde el tiempo se pliega, hay luces que nunca se mueven.
