Ok I was thinking about this for a long time. But the latest performance of Janja brought me to speak up about this subjet.
It shows that there is a rather big difference beetween a climbing performance with and without kneepad.
In my opinion I feel that it is the right time to speak up about it. Climbing is in full swing and evolving a lot nowadays. In my opinion, again, we have to change some rules for the name of performance and progress. I don’t know yet if climbers are sharing my opinion or not. The idea is to push the limit of climbing in the good way and let the possibilities of different types of performance.
I love to think about keeping the idea of the origines of climbing that used to be « climbing barehands ».This is not just for Janja, it is for the futur of climbing and performance. Some climbers think that we have to accept that it is evolution, I understand, but I hope for a better way to push the limits of performance.
