Then… lightning, hail & a full-blown Hunter Valley storm.
And honestly? It just made the day better. ⚡️
Abbey + Benjamin’s Bimbadgen Palmers Lane wedding had main character energy from start to finish. Ceremony moved last minute, guests grabbed a drink, storm rolled through… then the clouds split open and gave us the kind of dramatic sky you can’t plan if you tried.
These two? Completely unfazed.
Running hand-in-hand through muddy vines.
Laughing through the chaos.
Trusting the process.
We got that perfect post-storm light over the mountains, snuck out for a 5-minute “maybe sunset” that turned into absolute gold, and sent the drone up to show just how epic the landscape was. Then straight back in to a packed dancefloor that didn’t quit.

With a first look captured in the earlier parts of the day, Charlie & Charlie were able to relax with their friends and family and get the party started early on in the day as they enjoyed some tunes and drinks before their ceremony started. A quick walk downstairs meant they could enter their ultimate garden party under a tree where all of their guests were treated to a pleasantly warm winter afternoon in the sunshine!
With the ceremony ending before 2:30, their guests were then free to enjoy the endless amounts of delicious canapés by while kept the dance floor packed out from start to finish while their guests enjoyed every minute of the excellent weather.
The pair even got to enjoy some moments together down on the beach for one of our favourite portrait sessions of recent weeks as their vibrant love story was captured across our lenses. We loved the energy and authenticity that this pair brought to their wedding day and we cannot wait to share more from this incredible first wedding back in the current wedding season!
