I’ve known since 2005 when we attended college together and we have since been best of friends. When I was deciding which city to move to in the UK, I reached out to him, and he recommended Sheffield. I applied and got accepted, thanks to his encouragement at every opportunity. He helped me land my first job, sponsored my first event as an event planner, and managed my initial PR efforts. When he got a job in Doncaster and was asked to refer someone, he recommended me. Later, when he secured another position in Mansfield, he told them he was a duo and insisted they hire me too. He even got a seven month contract in Nottingham and pushed for me to join him there. When the work started to become frustrating, I decided to leave, and Maliq also withdrew his registration. He was preparing to move from Sheffield to another city for a new job and made sure there was a spot for me at his new workplace then. I’ve worked with every agency he has been with. He’s always been there for me, and it’s funny how we got married in the same year, just four months apart. He was my best man at my wedding, and given that our mothers were friends, our families have grown closer now our wives are like sisters! God bless you, Maliq; you truly are my BEST MAN!
