Ich bin Mascha aka Mala und töpfere seit 2021. Auf dem Foto seht ihr mich mit einer der ersten Vasen, die ich selbst getöpfert habe. Seit Anfang diesen Jahres hat mich das Töpferfieber so richtig gepackt. Das Arbeiten mit Ton hat mir aus einer psychisch sehr belastenden Zeit herausgeholfen und bleibt bis jetzt mein beste Therapie. Am liebsten stelle ich Keramik mit der Plattentechnik her -- das ist eine unglaublich vielseitige Technik, in der ich meiner Kreativität freien Lauf lassen kann. Seit etwas kürzerer Zeit versuche ich auch das Drehen an der Töpferscheibe zu erlernen, aber da ist das Frustrationspotential noch sehr hoch.
Mein liebstes Gefühl beim Töpfern ist das Glattstreichen lederharten Tons mit der Gummirippe… für mich gibt es kein vergleichbares Gefühl wie das von glattem, kühlem, aber gleichzeitig auch irgendwie „samtenem“ lederharten Ton.
Vielen lieben Dank an für die Challenge, der Welt unsere #Keramikliebe zu zeigen. Ich finde besonders spannend, wie vielen das Töpfern aus sehr schwierigen Zeiten heraus geholfen zu haben scheint.

I’m Mascha aka Mala and I’ve been making pottery since 2021. In this photo you can see me with one of the first vases I made this year. Working with clay has helped me out of a mentally stressful time at the beginning of this year and remains the best therapy for me to this day. I prefer to make ceramics using the slab technique - it’s an incredibly versatile technique that allows me to give free rein to my creativity.More recently, I’ve also been trying to learn how to turn on the potter’s wheel, but the potential for frustration is still very high. My favorite feeling when making pottery is smoothing leather-hard clay with the rubber rib... for me there is no feeling comparable to that of smooth, cool, but at the same time somehow „velvety“ leather-hard clay.
