1-I have 2 babies from 2 different dadies - the first one was from Dubai, the second one South Africa & I have raised both my girls mostly alone. I must say that was never the vision I had growing up of my perfect family but life always surprise us with things we haven’t planed both amazing and most painful but I wouldn’t trade my life for any other.
2- People felt so sad for me when my first baby Dady left out of the blue at 5 month pregnant, but I must say even though I was heart broken for myself and the relationship we had for 5 years and my future baby for not growing up knowing her father - I also was so excited and happy to have my first baby and the first 3 years with Victoria and I together were pure happiness. So don’t pity any single mums because sometimes you can find them being genuinely super happy (tired but happy like any other mums).
3- I travelled everywhere with my babies from their first few months, from 10 hours car trip with a new born and a toddler to a flight to New York at 3 months old, I did it all alone. It’s been so much fun showing them the world, Victoria has already been to 10 countries at 7, so if anyone feels scared to travel anywhere with small babies just know it’s totally feasible & fun even by yourself.
4- Sometimes I feel so angry with the baby daddies for not supporting me or my girls the way we deserve, but I also learned so much about myself during this very painful process of being let down. Nobody is obliged to do anything, and their choices are reflecting on them not me. I learned to let go knowing that nothing supposed to be for me will be given to anyone else and what is meant to be will always be.
I learned to trust and let go and to control only what I can control = shower my girls with all my love and bring them all the joy and safety I can.
5- I secretely believe that sometimes being a single mum is easier - I get to make all the big decisions myself, naming my baby, education, values…And I don’t share my energy with anyone else but them which with a newborn is so precious. Continue below…
