Even mid-build, some boats refuse to hide their beauty. At Lyman-Morse, we’re crafting an exquisite, timeless #Hood42LM cold-molded motor vessel. We don’t often share in-process photos — the magic usually comes at the end — but this build is so special that even the quiet moments shine through at the height of construction. Too stunning not to share. Enjoy.

On the coldest day of the year, and just after the season’s first snowfall, we bid bon voyage to our final winter snowbirds. Namaste, a 24m catamaran, slipped out of Camden Harbor with her crew bound for warmer waters.

They’ve already made landfall in Bermuda and are ultimately en route to Antigua. While we’re gearing up for a white-snow Christmas here in Maine, they’ll be celebrating a white-sand one down south.

A heartfelt thank you to the Namaste crew for choosing to spend your time with us here in Camden.

Fair winds — we’ll keep the harbor lights burning until spring.

There’s a certain magic to Maine. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it, sailed it, or worked alongside the people who shape it.

captured that feeling perfectly in their new series, Dirt. It’s not about Lyman-Morse specifically, but it is about the place we’re proud to call home: the rugged coastline, the craft of boatbuilding, and the hardworking, big-hearted people who make Maine unlike anywhere else. You might spot a few familiar Midcoast faces along the way.

As we head into Thanksgiving, we’re feeling especially grateful for this state, this community, and the generations of makers, mariners, and neighbors who define what Maine truly is.

Here’s to Maine, and to everyone who helps make it extraordinary.

Exciting news for our neighbors in Massachusetts! Lyman-Morse has been awarded the contract to build three new solar-powered ferries for MeVa Transit, bringing clean, quiet, and efficient ferry service back to the Merrimack River for the first time in nearly 100 years.

Built by our division, these aluminum, solar-assisted electric ferries will serve Haverhill, Amesbury, and Newburyport, providing a new, sustainable transportation option for commuters and visitors across the region.

The 33-foot catamarans will carry up to 22 passengers with space for bikes or scooters and feature full mobility access. With solar supplementation and fast-charging at both docks, the ferries will efficiently support morning and evening commuter schedules, plus mid-day recreational trips.

Two Lyman-Morse beauties, built 20 years apart but equally stunning. One shows off today’s modern systems, the other carries the charm of another era. Both are back in Thomaston for winter work — right where they started. It’s always special seeing our boats (and customers) come home.

It’s National Harbormaster Appreciation Day! We’re celebrating the people who keep our coastal communities safe, organized, and thriving.

We’re proud to have just launched a new custom Harbormaster vessel for Portland Harbor, Maine, built by our Lyman-Morse Workboats division to meet the specific demands of their busy waterfront. Every detail was purpose-built, from a fully customized layout to a lithium-ion powered air-conditioning system and dual-helm configuration, ensuring efficient, reliable performance for the team that manages one of New England’s most active harbors.

She’s baaack.

After years of cruising Floridian waters, the 94’ Electra has returned home to Lyman-Morse. Launched in 2007, this stunning yacht represents the craftsmanship, innovation, and enduring quality that define our work.

Now under the care of a new owner, Electra is back at our yard for a round of thoughtful upgrades - proof that true pedigree stands the test of time.

Welcome home, Electra. Who remembers when this vessel was launched?

We’ve been quiet here lately because we’ve been busy! Trying to get back to sharing what we do best, and figured a video of our Hood 42 LM was just the way to go.

With classic mahogany joinery and unlacquered brass details, she radiates timeless elegance, while her advanced systems deliver uncompromising modern performance. The Hood 42 LM is the third model born of our partnership with, following the celebrated #Hood57LM and #Hood35LM.

This project has been a true collaboration. We’re grateful to our client for their inspiring vision and impeccable taste, and to our team for bringing it to life with such precision and passion.
