Huge congratulations to Casey Rogerson ’20! His horror short film, “Terroir,” just won Best Student Short at the 25th annual Screamfest in Los Angeles.

Inspiration for the film struck during a family vacation in France when a sommelier described a wine as having a “bloody” characteristic. The result? A terrifying tale about a vineyard where the Pinot Noir is implausibly improved by its sinister environment.

Where in the world are Lawrentians this summer? Trekking around the globe on one of our Harkness Travel trips, these students traced the footsteps of World War II resistance fighters and unsung heroes across France and Switzerland. The immersive journey built on subject matter taught in students’ Forces Shaping the Modern World class, exploring firsthand the complex dynamics of resistance, oppression, and the role of humanitarian organizations.
World Cup fever is taking over this summer, and Lawrenceville is right in the midst of the action, situated between New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, where many key matches are taking place. ⚽️🏟️

We’ll be cheering on especially loud for alum Duke Lacroix ‘11, a member of the Haiti National Team, who will take on Brazil this Friday. A New Jersey native, Lacroix played soccer and ran track for Big Red. Read more about him in the upcoming summer edition of The Lawrentian magazine.
