In order to complete my earlier post, let’s talk about the pattern and colour combo.
The suit is a rather neutral lightish grey, which facilitates combination. As you may recall, it has a subtle dusty blue grid; the blue merges into the grey ground at anything but close quarters distance, but it confers depth and eases putting it together with blue complements, so I took advantage of this.
The shirt ( spearpoint-collared repro) has a light blue pinstripe and a blackish skinny pinstripe, which all but dissolves in the blue. I paired it with a snazzy zig-zag textured navy tie with square pindots.
The pocket square is sky blue linen.
The (vintage Stetson) hat is a gorgeous shade of blue-steel grey felt with navy ribbon.
I opted for brown pebbled leather derbies; the suit has brown buttons, hence the choice of colour. Socks are, again, navy.
