Your current involvement & why you enjoy it: In addition to my role at Lurie Children’s, I serve as President of the American Nurses Association–Illinois, American Nurses Association -Leadership Council Executive Committee, Board of Director for the Illinois Nurses Foundation, State Legislative Committee, Illinois Political Action Committee and as an Adjunct Professor.. I enjoy this work because it allows me to advocate for nurses, mentor emerging leaders, and the realization that I am helping to shape the future of nursing practice in Illinois and beyond our state lines while staying grounded in the realities of clinical and operational care.
What is your why / your motivation? My “why” is centered on caring for the caregivers. I am motivated by creating environments where nurses and healthcare professionals feel supported, valued, and empowered to deliver exceptional care to children and families. Leadership, to me, is about service, well‑being, and leaving systems better than we found them.

Your current involvement & why you enjoy it: I’m a member of the Wellbeing, Preceptor, and Quality committees in the CCU. I love being able to help my coworkers find balance between work and ensuring that they take care of themselves too. I enjoy preceptor committee, creating new pathways for preceptors, and creating educational tools for orientees. Being a part of Quality Committee is rewarding, knowing I’m making a difference in infection prevention, and CAUTI and fall reductions. Through my personal initiative, I partnered our supply chain and an organization called Cardiostart International, to reduce medical supply waste, and provide overstocked supplies to hospitals in developing countries. In addition to that volunteer work, I’ve donated over 300 items of comfort to Lurie’s ED such as books, comfort kids, and stuffed animals for children who are undergoing treatment for childhood abuse and neglect.
What is your why/your motivation?: Knowing that I can provide comfort in a time of distress. When a patient smiles after surgery, or parents get sleep at night and can step away from the hospital, I know I’m making a positive impact. Helping kids have the healthiest start to life has always been my life goal and purpose! Whether that’s through nursing, or my outside volunteer work, I want to make sure every child feels safe, seen, and loved.
Fun Facts: I’ve held hearts in my hands before when I used to work in open heart surgery! I got to fly out for organ procurement and see a heart beat for the last time and the first time again. I’m competing in the Miss Illinois USA pageant this May!

Your current involvement & why you enjoy it: I am currently involved in our education committee at SHBG and am the co-chair for the quality and safety committee at Schaumburg. Prior to Schaumburg I was in ENT for 3.5 years and was able to help get ENT started here at SHBG since it was new to this location. I enjoyed teaching fellow colleagues and creating resources for staff to help understand new material for a new department. I enjoy being part of the quality and safety committee because I like to work on workflows that continue to improve clinical practices and create a culture of effective workflows, process improvements, and patient centered care in the best and safest way possible.
What is your why/your motivation?: My patients are my motivation. I like to come to work and care for pediatrics patients no matter what they are being seen for and in all stages of childhood. It’s very rewarding to know you made a difference in not only the patient’s life but also the parent’s life as well by providing them with ease and comfort as they tackle on a new diagnosis or continue to manage their current diagnosis.
Fun Facts: I am fluent in Spanish and have been told that I have an old soul. I am a homebody and like to read and spend time with family & friends but also like to be in bed at an early time.
