I’m such a sucker for a good year end reflection. I took a moment yesterday to go through my photos to remind myself where we travelled, what we accomplished and the people we got to spend it with. This year was a particularly busy year 🥰
Always hard to narrow it down, but here are some of our faves from the year:
Jan- Van trip to Whistler & winter hike with friends.
Feb- lots of running & time spent at home
March- Sun Peaks trip, Cultus Lake in the van, & weekend trip to Victoria
April- Dog sitting in Bend, Oregon & a visit from our friends
May- hiking in Northern Oregon, visiting with family on V.I., Bamfield & Powell River
June- back in Vancouver & took some small trips to Bowen, Galiano, & Twin Island
July- Europe for our wedding! Slovenia, Italy & Denmark
August- Tofino weekend, Widgeon Creek, & weekends away in the van
September- dog sitting in NYC
October- Thanksgiving on the island, Whistler trip with friends
November- camping at Porteau Cove, Belize trip
December- Christmas celebrations & a trip home to Ireland.

We spent our weekend roasting marshmallows around the fire, soaking up the stunning views, and cranking the diesel heater in the van for cozy nights by the water. We are already looking forward to our next trip away and will be making the most of our van no matter the weather 🌧️❄️🚐

All the incredible seasons at the height of their beauty 🌻 How lucky we are for all the views and activities 🏔️🥾 And while I wish for summer all year round, it is a nice reminder how great it can be to experience all four seasons. (Or at least that’s what I tell myself to make me feel better as I hibernate indoors for the weekend 🫠)

Luke and I are not typically city people but if you don’t love NYC then there is just something wrong with you. It truly is the best city! We spent two and a half weeks there recently split between Manhattan and Brooklyn and there were endless things to do and see. And the food 🤤
I’ve also become obsessed with this song from the musical Two Strangers and it makes we want to go back already just to watch it!

All this is to say, we have changed our name! With so many epic trips planned we are stoked to start sharing more amazing places beyond BC and this felt like the perfect timing for a name change.

It’s still the same people behind the camera (and maybe a little more in front of it too) and we can’t wait to keep you all updated with our adventures.

In the spirit of this name change and sharing more about ourselves, here are some random facts about us.
1. We met at a hostel in Western Australia just over 8 years ago and travelled the world together for 4 years before moving to Canada.
2. I am a proud Vancouver Islander and Luke is from Ireland but is now a permanent resident in Canada.
3. Luke only ate Nutella sandwiches until he was 26 years old. Seriously, lunch and dinner every day for 26 years was Nutella sandwiches. His dream was always to be on the label of the Nutella jar.
4. I (Roxy) have travelled to 48 countries, lived in Australia, Spain, France, Italy and New York and speak Italian.
5. We have a golden retriever called Jax (named after Jack Teller from Sons of Anarchy) who is in training to become the ultimate adventure dog.
6. We bought a sprinter van at an auction and are currently converting it to be our full time home starting in June this year.
