On the second day, we decided not to start with Drogon in Hardi’s class and will continue working with him at our own pace and in his best interest.
Primmu already seems to have found a whole new energy again. She is pure joy to watch. 😄
I truly believe we’ll be able to bring out Drogon’s full potential as well. 💪

I was surprised, after Saturday, I did not expect such an outcome.
In tight competition, victory goes to the team where everything comes together perfectly on race days.
It’s a great feeling to know that we are now among the top contenders, among those teams for whom that perfect day can happen. 😅
Yesterday and today weren’t quite it, but we believe those days are still ahead. 😄
Maybe I will write a longer blog post about this weekend, because it was a real learning experience for both us and the dogs.
Most of all, we’re incredibly happy to have given so many young dogs valuable racing experience.
It was truly magical to race with the dogs I first met 19 months ago in the whelping box. 💙🐾

First and foremost, we have to consider the well-being and safety of our child. Unfortunately, Leonhard is no longer willing to tolerate long journeys in a car seat, which would have made the 1,700 km drive extremely challenging for us.
During training, our team dynamics were disrupted when a skier fell unexpectedly close to our lead dog, frightening him to the extent that he cannot currently be used as a lead dog. Our dogs have only recently reached competition age and so far have experience only from the autumn FUN class. In a true competition setting, we are still getting to know our young dogs, and the teamwork is not yet as solid as it needs to be. Fortunately, there are winter competitions closer to home in Latvia and Finland, where we can gain experience with our young dogs in a safer and more fun way.
Additionally, due to health issues, the helpers who were originally supposed to travel with us are unfortunately unable to join.
Travelling such a long distance by motorhome in winter conditions would have been a first for us, and winter mountain roads would have added further uncertainty.
This decision is heartbreaking, as we have been looking forward to this World Championship for a long time. However, the well-being of our family and our dogs is more important than any competition. For now, we are taking a more modest approach so we can truly enjoy the sport.

2025 has been a year of growth in every sense of the word. 🌱
⚪️ In January, our 11th dog joined the team – Agirregoikoa Bechamel, who has already proven to bring that much-needed “extra” to the pack ✨
⚪️ On 31.07.25, another “puppy” joined our family – our son Leonhard, who will be 5 months old on New Year’s Eve 👶
⚪️ Archi and Primmu’s puppies grew into competition age 🐾🏁
⚪️ We completed our first training sessions with an eight-dog team and managed to significantly increase our distances – a true musher feeling is already starting to settle in 😄
⚪️ We gained a great upgrade in trails – without even realizing it at first, we moved to a place where training trails start right from our doorstep. We do miss proper climbs, though, and still need to travel farther for those.
⚪️ A second section of our dog kennels was completed 🛠️
⚪️ We purchased a trailer that allows us to transport six dogs, making travel much more convenient 🚐🐾
⚪️ Throughout the year, our Airbnb accommodation received 5-star reviews from every guest.
⚪️ Together with other members, we helped breathe new life into the Estonian Siberian Husky Association 🤝🐺
In the rush of everyday life, it’s easy to overlook how much can actually be accomplished in a year. It feels good to pause, look back, and make a small summary.
What might 2026 bring? ✨
⚪️ Plenty of discoveries with our little son. I’ll do my best, as in every area of life. My reading list has already grown considerably to become a more informed parent 📚
⚪️ Participation in many competitions, as our huskies are competition-ready 🏆
⚪️ Continued work on improving and developing our homestead 🏡🌲

Our growing team is slowly reaching the age where they can start competing! 🐾 This time, Hardi raced Arch in the DS1 RNB class, taking 3rd place, while Raimond and Primmu ran in DCJ class. Our younger dogs ran a shorter track – this round it was Senna & Jazz and Drogon & Mona.
With a two-month-old baby, it was quite a challenge to be at the race, but it was so fun to soak in the atmosphere and socialize a bit.
The track was muddy and tough. Hardi even had a little tumble with Arch – luckily, both are safe and sound! Richard Põldmaa kindly lent Hardi a scooter for the fun class, as his own was out of order after the fall.
More races are coming up, but our main focus is the winter World Championships in Romania in early February, where we plan to race a four-dog sled and a two-dog ski team. By then, all our dogs will be ready to compete. Expectations are low – the team is young and still building strength and stamina. Three days of racing in a row will be a true test for both the dogs and me! The aim is to get some valuable experience for the future. ⭐️

We decided to lend Archibald to Geir so they could compete in the DS1 Nordic class (kickbike with one Nordic dog). At the first EDC race in Koeru, they placed 3rd — but after some gear tweaks and advice, they won the next race in Lithuania, climbing to the top of the podium! 🥇
We’re grateful Arch still got to race — and did so with amazing results. Way to go, Arch and Geir! 😄
In the overall Baltic Trophy standings, Hardi and Arch placed 3rd in the DS1 Nordic class. 🏆
All in all, it was a great season. Lots of races, and a big boost in participation. Huge thanks to all the clubs and organizations giving sled dog sports the momentum it deserves. Let’s keep the spirit strong, support each other, and keep pushing the sport forward — together! 💪🐾

Two-time WSA World Champion in the 1-dog scooter class — and basically the living embodiment of power mode only. He’s either lying down like a statue or blasting forward with the strength of both Masha and Chiro combined 🐶😅💨
After Hardi from suffered a serious injury just before the last races of the season we were given an incredible opportunity and a huge trust — to take care of Arch and race with him for two weekends. We’d trained a bit together, but racing? That’s a whole different energy 🤯
First race weekend? Let’s just say… Arch had the power, which we could not use. Managed a solid 3rd place 🤫
Second weekend in Lithuania? We found the groove — and the podium’s top step! 🥇🇱🇹
And yes — Arch looks like he might eat you alive (we were a bit scared too at first, when we saw him for the first time😂), but turns out he’s just all business. Masha and Chiro might actually be scarier 🤭
To Hardi and the entire team — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. For the trust, the support and the chance to race with such an absolute legend. It truly means a lot 🙏

Our dogs took part in both a sleddog race (Archi & Primmu) and a dog show (Fiona) — and to be honest, we had hoped for a bit more. But hey, not everything goes to plan… Maybe the stars just weren’t aligned for us this time.
Archi and Primmu competed in the two-day Coolland Race on a 6.3 km course.
We’ve tested Archi in all sorts of ways — he’s an absolute sprinter and shines when the trail in 1-dog-scooter class is about 4.5 km long. Short distances are his strength, and that’s exactly what brought him wins at the World Championships.
Arch went all in from the start on both days. Day one he managed to hang in there, slowing down a bit towards the end but still holding it together. Day two, however… After about 4.5 km, he hit a serious wall. From there on, Hardi could barely get more than a trot out of him.
We really felt for him — he didn’t know the course was longer and gave it his all right away. Skijoring alone in winter and in two-dog class, or more, he does great on much longer distances. Every dog has their strengths and weaknesses — no one is perfect. For Arch, heat is a major challenge. He really struggles when it’s warm, and the first day was quite hot. That black coat doesn’t help either.
So, for the first time in DS1 R class, Archi missed the podium and finished 4th.
As for Primmu…
Well, she decided to take it easy this weekend. Pulled off a little throwback to her “Jämi” days.
Luckily, Sassu (borrowed from Agirregoikoa kennel) helped carry them to 3rd place! For some reason, Primmu just felt like not pulling again — something we hadn’t seen in a long time, but there it was.
To top it all off…
Fiona totally blew her coat two days before the dog show.
She got a “very good” rating both days.
Based on the critiques we got from the judges it seems like Fiona’s appearance, structure, angulation, etc have totally changed. Who knows — maybe one day we’ll manage to show up to a dog show with her coat still intact.
That’s it for this weekend.
Next weekend: EDC Koeru stage — here we come!
