Today also marks exactly three months back in Tokyo. To think that I began my application to this research scholarship before even coming out is so disorienting, but here I am. Two years lived that brought me here, and now two more years living out the dreams I thought I had. While life is never what we expect, it's queer community that has kept me from giving up before I can get started.

I have the growing feeling that if I can get through the next 5 months with myself, I will have a sort of confidence I have also never known. The person I am now feels so fresh and new still, too uncertain to withstand this much pressure on my own. The more my body works against me, the harder I have to work to remind myself that my health and my happiness are worth fighting for. That I am deserving of them.
I don't think I would've made it through these long drives without such a good companion on the road. Gisela, thank you for giving me the chance to live out my little dream on the road for a week with you 🖤

Taking a break from the tour content to acknowledge the ceasefire discussions that have finally, finally been occurring this week. Reflecting on what this could mean for so many people, so many individual lives.
Driving back to New York tomorrow with so much to be thankful for, so much to grieve, and just a bit of hope.
