Stratford is an area I don’t know well but it was fun to explore another part of London. The restaurant is located within Manhattan Loft Gardens and I immediately liked the open plan design, tasteful decor, little fireplace and natural light.
It was my friends birthday this week which made it even more special - loved the little surprise cake for her at the end of the meal:-) We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere so much that we managed to spend hours just enjoying the food, surroundings and each others company.
Each dish was a delight and beautifully presented. For starters we shared a perfect selection of small dishes:
Duck bon bons, hoisin sauce, pickled cucumber
Sea-bass ceviche, pickled baby corn, puffed wild rice, parsley oil
Chicken yakitori, poached pea, bonito flakes
Pea hummus, courgette bread, sumac oil
For mains I opted for the seared stone bass, chilli glazed Singapore noodles, prawn & leek dumplings - it had an amazing crispy top and just perfectly cooked on the inside! My friend chose the Robata grilled lamb loin, lamb croquette, potato terrine & heritage carrot which she equally enjoyed.
Of course we could not resist to round it up with a dessert at the end and both went for the lavender creme brûlée topped with the tastiest macerated strawberries.
I also enjoyed meeting executive chef Josh Deacon - you can just tell when someone is passionate about food!

We stayed at the beautiful an all-inclusive luxury experience lodge that is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux and it was amazing to explore one of these islands on a full day excursion offered by the hotel. ⠀
