ad/pr A weekend in Montmarte was just the January cure. A design-led boutique hotel that Iโd had my eyes on since the opening a couple years ago, particularly the pink rooftop bar, and it was a pleasure to spend a few nights here. A special mention must go to the beautiful spa featuring garden mosaic tiled walls, 4 thermal pools and a sauna.
It was also ideally located between the Sacrรฉ Cลur the Marais, two of my favourite places to wander. Brisk walks up the hill with were rewarded with beautiful views, a multitude of cafes (Iโm 50% croissant and cookie now), and less people than Iโve ever experienced in Paris. The January effect - yes, cold - but a bit of magic in the air.โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
Frosty mornings turn London into a winter wonderland, and a walk though the parks are the best way to take in the seasonal beauty. One of the most classic London winter walks: St James Park to Piccadilly.
The itinerary:
Pre-walk coffees and buns at
Walk to St James Park, explore the grounds and take in views from the bridge over to Westminster, Horse Guards Parade, and Buckingham Palace. The pink pelicans have been in residence since 1664, and daily feedings at 2:30 are always a sight to see. Families with young kids, donโt miss the playground, near Buckingham Palace.
Walk past St James Palace up to Piccadilly (donโt miss the royal guards ๐ซก and end the walk at to thaw out and stock up on some lovely tea and biscuits. I also love to go downstairs to the food hall for one of my favourite hidden gems - the Fortnums bagel bar, the Dapper Salmon is *fab* and last time I checked under ยฃ10.

I was inside when someone announced โitโs snowing!โ So out I ran and walked around in a bit of snow, but it really started coming down once I got to soho. How magical to be caught in it even just for a short while.โ๏ธ

London looks good in any month, but I canโt deny Iโm always looking for the fastest way to get to Spring ๐ฅฐ๐ธ.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Iโm starting as I mean to go on ๐ค with a winter Paris trip, and plans are firming up for NYC, the Lake District, and Canary Islands. A few European countries Iโd love to get back to including Norway and Spain, but would love to add a new one to the list (Greece! Iโve never been ๐ฎ).
Of course wouldnโt miss my favorite UK destinations from Cotswolds to Cornwall (where my soul resides), and we just might manage a couple trips back to the US, hopefully and.
I havenโt been back in nearly 2 years, the longest ever that Iโve been away since moving to London, feels quite strange!
Bath Christmas market is so charming, itโs seriously like stepping into the Muppet Christmas Carol movie (if you know you know).
I always find the loveliest things from independent stalls and makers, as well as shopping the lovely shops in the city and just soaking up the atmosphere with a hot chocolate in hand.
The market runs daily from 27th November to Sunday 14th December.
