πŸ₯³πŸ₯³HAPPY NEW YEARπŸ₯³πŸ₯³
What a year it has been. London is the city that never stands still, constantly evolving, adapting, and reinventing itself. After years of transformation, the scaffolding is finally falling away, revealing a renewed London in full view.
πŸ”Ή
Yet through all this change, three things have remained constant: the historic architecture that commands the same reverence it has for centuries, the remarkable people who give the city its energy and soul, and for the 11th consecutive year, London retaining its title as the greatest city on earth, capped once again by the world’s most spectacular New Year’s fireworks display!!
πŸ”Ή
As the new year is now underway, here’s to momentum, ambition, and moving forward without ever losing what makes this city uniquely extraordinary.
πŸ”Ή
Where did you watch the fireworks from and what’s the one thing you’re hoping that 2026 brings for you?

β€œHappy New Year, everyone! πŸ₯³πŸŒŸ
πŸ”Ή
Once again, the greatest city on earth has outdone itself! Every year, I think, surely they can’t top this, and yet, they prove me wrong every single time. I’ve been photographing London’s iconic fireworks display since the year 1999 (though I confess, not very professionally back then), but this year’s show was truly something special.
πŸ”Ή
After sifting through countless shots, I’ve chosen this one as my favourite to share with you. Some turned out just okay, while others are absolute gems, but this one? It felt magical and caught my eye the most, I’ve never seen the Union Flag projected like this before, and want to find out how they do it 🀩. When I find out I’ll let you know!!
πŸ”Ή
What did you think of the display? Did it leave you in awe as much as it did me? I’d love to hear your thoughts, were you there? Share your own favourite moment in the comments!
πŸ”Ή
As we step into 2025, let’s take a moment to celebrate the triumphs, big and small, that brought us here. Whether you accomplished personal goals, overcame challenges, or simply made it through the year, you’ve done incredible things, and that deserves to be acknowledged.
πŸ”Ή
To those facing difficult times, know that this new year brings new possibilities, strength, and hope. The path ahead might not be easy, but you’re not alone, better days are always within reach.
πŸ”Ή
Here’s to fresh starts, bold dreams, and shared moments of joy. Let’s make 2025 a year of kindness, growth, and connection. Cheers and much love to all of you! ✨

Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with joy, success, and endless possibilities! Thank you for being a part of my community. I truly hope that you enjoyed the daily advent quiz in the lead up to Christmas, it was enjoyable for me to do and to see how so many of you took part in the fun.

I know 2023 may not have been such a great year for some of you, and to you I say this: as you leave 2023 close the door behind you, so that you can enter the new year with a renewed heart full of strength and excitement for the year ahead. For any bad memories from 2023, leave those behind. Those of you who lost loved ones in 2023, carry them with you in your heart through to 2024 and beyond, as they will always be there in spirit and looking down on you proudly. And use them as your motivation to do them proud πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

Today is a day of great historic magnitude. For those of us under the age of 70, this will be the first coronation that we have consciously witnessed. For some of us this will be a once in a lifetime event.
πŸ”Ή
The stability a Royal Family brings us as opposed to an ever changing republican President with bias partisan influences, is one of the biggest blessings we have in the UK and I for one do not take that for granted.

May God bless His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla and their reign πŸ™πŸ»πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Last night / this morning, we saw the greatest firework display in the world, right here in the greatest city on earth, how lucky are we? 🀩.

What a year!!
πŸ”Ή
I present to you the most iconic photos of London, if not in the whole world for 2022. The end of an era and the start of a new one. I have also included as a bonus, one of my very favourite photo’s of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A favourite, because it shows her with her guard down and with a warm and genuine smile. I shall certainly miss her dearly! We have lost a lot of big names in 2022.
πŸ”Ή
What has 2022 been like for you? Was it a good year? What were the best things to happen this year for you? What about the not so good? Are you sad to see this year end, or are you looking forward to getting stuck straight into 2023? πŸ’ͺ🏻
πŸ”Ή
Any plans for 2023? What about New Year’s Resolutions? And more importantly…do you stick to them? Be honest πŸ˜‚
πŸ”Ή
As far as my Instagram is concerned, things are going to get more fun around here 😎. Thank you for being here, I will catch you all in the new year.
πŸ”Ή
Finally before Big Ben chimes in 12 o’clock, I’d like to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR πŸ₯³πŸΎπŸ’«

Two Met police officers watching over Trafalgar Square. This photo was taken on December 1st 1948, outside the National Gallery (photographer unknown). The Christmas tree you see, was given to London as a gift from the city of Oslo in Norway, as a token of thanks for British assistance during WWII. This tradition began in 1947 and is still maintained today. A lovely gesture from our wonderful friends in Norway πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸŽ„
πŸ”Ή
I wasn’t expecting to be posting an old photo this year for Christmas, but I’ve always admired this picture. As photographers, we are merely passing though our moment in history, visually documenting parts of our today, so that those of tomorrow can see how things were in their past. I do wonder if future photographers in London, will look at any of my photos with the same level of admiration, as I do for the old black and white photos of the past such as this one. I’d really love to think so. As Christmas in London for 2022 has been well documented, I wanted to give you a different angle 😁
πŸ”Ή
I’ve been giving my approach on Instagram a lot of thought lately and I plan to mix things up a bit in 2023. Past, present, informative and to generally make things more interesting. What do you think? How does more fun and better content sound to you?
πŸ”Ή
I’ve also got to ask you, have you enjoyed the Advent Calendar on my stories this Christmas? I’ve loved doing it, but please do let me know your own thoughts below πŸ™πŸ». I’ve already got some ideas on how to improve it for next year!! πŸ₯³
πŸ”Ή
For some of you, I know Christmas will be challenging this year, after losing a close someone in your life. Christmas without them, simply won’t feel like Christmas. My heart and prayers go out to you and I send you a big virtual hug, may you find a spiritual way to include them at this time β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»πŸ«‚

The very lovely autumnal path with the Sun’s rays pertruding through. The crisp air and the scent of damp leaves drying, what is there to not love about Autumn πŸ‚πŸ˜. What’s your favourite thing about Autumn and do you have any awesome traditions?
πŸ”Ή
A few days ago I asked in my story if you’d like to see an Autumnal London photo, or whether I should skip straight to Christmas. Thank you to the almost 6,000 of you who voted 😁. As you can see this won the vote and received the approval of 88% of you. To the other 12% don’t you worry, Gareth is going to have a goodie or two for you as well πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
πŸ”Ή
How are you doing by the way? Are you ready for Christmas yet? Bought any gifts or do you leave it to the last minute like me? I’m working on that, I promise!! πŸ˜‚πŸ”Ή
What do you think of this picture then? And do you know someone who really loves Autumn too? Why not tag them and show how much you love them 😍🀩

I dedicate this photo to the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She gave 70 years of dedicated service without putting a foot wrong nor ever uttering a single word of complaint, beyond extraordinary. I took this photo on a more carefree day, in the company of my good friend, who served as butler to HM The Queen for many years and right up until the very end (you know who you are and I dedicate this photo to you as well).

I’ve always loved capturing a sunset, but with this one I struck gold. Capturing the sun, setting through the semi circular structure in the distance, is one of those rare moments that photographers live for.

I chose this photo because for me, it represents the sun setting on the second Elizabethan age. What a glorious and golden age it was too. The Queen was truly one of a kind and I, as well as so many other Brits, feel truly lucky to have had her as our Queen, we really were blessed and we knew it!

Your Majesty you made us a promise when aged 21, you didn’t deviate once from that and fulfilled every word of it. Prince Philip is waiting for you now. May you rest in eternal peace and rise in glory. We are in safe hands with your son King Charles III and HRH The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are already doing you very proud.

Thank you ma’am, for everything πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

Looks like Shardy ate too many mince pies over Christmas!! Didn’t we all? πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚. I’ll be back to my 2 marathons per week in the new year so a couple more won’t hurt πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
πŸ”Ή
What a year!! How was it for you? And what were the things that you were most grateful for in 2021? I really hope that the year went well for you? πŸ™πŸ»

What are you looking forward to and what are you hoping for in 2022? Any New Year’s resolutions? Any plans or new goals? The best goal wins a prize!!
