Never trained together, first time meeting today and I’d say we made a great team.
Both out our comfort zone with deadlifts and no running involved but still finished 6th amongst some insanely strong women!
Privilege to team up with you, can’t wait to partner up again!
Top organisation from and thank you for the support and being videographer!

A much needed get away
The early crew brought the heat, unfortunately no sled push footage but the team crushed it.

I think my face says it all. There was not one single part of this race that I enjoyed full stop. Don’t be fooled by the first run - from the second run to the end I struggled, unable to control my foot and I limped around each one almost walking. Every single station all I thought about was how on earth am I going to be able to finish the next run. I felt so bad that I was letting Vanessa down and I spent the whole race apologising!
.
Im gutted I wasn’t able to take in the moment and enjoy the atmosphere - to be honest the whole race was a complete blur, I barley remember it. I shouldn’t have started but I wanted to cling onto hope that it might just be ok. But hey, we finished and crossed the finish line somehow.
One day I will be back, it’s a mountain I’ve got to climb but I’m not giving up just yet!

I didn’t know if/when or how to post this…
I knew from the start I shouldn’t have started that race yesterday. I hobbled around limping almost walking to the finish.
People have asked me what “injury I have” but it’s hard to explain. Since the end of July I have been struggling to run, it came from nowhere- unable to control my foot but not knowing why. Running just felt “hard” and “unnatural” I’ve been keeping things to myself hoping and praying it would will get better but it’s a reality I have to process that it’s more serious than that.
I’m currently in the process of getting a diagnosis for a rare neurological movement disorder which means the signals from my brain to my foot are disrupted when I run and walk causing involuntary movements in the lower limb. My muscles contract abnormally and spasm and my running gait is all over the place and it’s now also affecting my walking.
Yesterday I tried to convince myself things would be okay but I knew as soon as I started I shouldn’t have. Our aim of 1 hour pro doubles soon went through the window and every step and hobble around that track I wanted to quit- hobbling across the line with 1.08. To be honest I feel heartbroken, how can I go from world champs in June and then running sub 4min kilometres in July to this? Going from the girl who is known as “the fast runner” to it being taken away from me completely hurts bad.🥺.
After many years of struggling with my eating disorder this past year had started to feel positive and I felt so grateful to have found a new sport that I had potential with. It feels even harder to accept as it is not an injury it’s my brain - it’s not something that will just disappear 😥.
But hey, here I am again, another battle - I’m not going to give up yet. I’m holding on to the small chance that things can get better.
For now my racing shoes are hung up until I have been seen my a neurological specialist and I have a proper diagnosis. Huge thank you to for getting me through that race and not letting me quit. Sorry for letting you down - I wish we could have shown everyone our true potential 🥺🩷

Many of you already know my story but I think it’s so important to continue to raise awareness.
The girl I am now is so far from the one who secretly struggled for 9 years with an eating disorder and REDs - wanting everyone to think I was completley fine.
I have always been competitive from a young age and LOVED every kind of sport but unfortunately my drive to perform at the highest level as a cheerleader triggered an eating disorder - something I am still navigating in recovery now 9 years later.
I lost my period for over 5 years as my body didn’t have enough energy to menstruate. I lost my hair, I lost many friends, lied and pushed people away in the fear of food and not being able to exercise. All I thought about from morning to night was about food - exercise and the fear of weight gain and quite frankly I thought there was no way out. I over exercised and did everything I possibly could to do what I believed would make me the best athlete possible.
But here’s the thing:
-Not having a period can affect fertility, bone strength and can cause osteoporosis.
- Thinking about food 24/7 means there is no space for friends and family, you start to become isolated and believe that no one likes you.
- Under-fuelling can cause your heart muscle to deteriorate, putting pressure on your vital organs and can cause fatality.
- Hair loss, heart palpitations, dizziness & acne are all side effects of under eating and over eating exercising.
- Brain fog and memory loss
- Being lighter may initially improve performance but long term chronic fatigue will destroy you. You will feel weak, exhausted and struggle to get through day to day.
I have learned so much in my recovery journey on how to fuel my body and I have worked SO hard to be the girl I am today and to heal my body and mind. It has been far from easy but wow I can finally say it has been worth it! People say I am “lucky” that I am naturally good at what I can do and my most recent success but honestly, no one knows what is going on behind the scenes - I can tell you it is far from luck!
I promise you recovery is worth it you just have to take the leap 🩷
.
Thanks to and for helping make this happen as well as for being the best supporter 🩷

For the last 8 years of my life I have struggled with my mental health and anorexia. Over exercising and under fuelling my body to try and be the smallest version of myself. In these pictures I may look different- “underweight or unhealthy” in some & in others more “healthy” but in each one I was struggling. Anorexia is misunderstood & has no link weight. It is a mental illness that I continue to battle with regardless of body size.
.
Eating disorders are rarely talked about in cheerleading and I promised myself one day I would open up. 10 years as a competitive cheerleader have been the most incredible years of my life but I have put a lot of pressure on myself mentally.
.
What started as a “worlds diet” & eating healthier back in 2016 has led to 8 years of mentally struggling with anorexia. Comparing myself constantly to other flyers and never wanting to be labelled as the “bigger” or “heavier flyer”. If a stunt would fall my brain would tell me it was because I was too heavy. I get compliments about my physique or having “abs” and loved it but hated it at the same time. Deep down I knew it wasn’t a product of being “fit” but instead very unwell. I have pushed myself for 8 years to maintain an impossible physique.
.
I lost my period for 5 years, isolated myself, missed social occasions, lied to people and felt like I had no friends at all, completely alone. At my worst I felt dizzy, unable to concentrate. I experienced heart palpitations, hair loss & extreme brain fog & constant fatigue. I didn’t care about anything other than the thoughts in my head controlling what I ate how I looked every day. Nothing seemed fun anymore. I felt a shell of myself.
.
I took a break after worlds last year to try to put my mental health first but my love for the sport brought me back again this season. Recovering properly since worlds this year has been a priority but has come with anxiety. It’s been so hard seeing my body change and worrying that others will notice and I will feel heavy. I’m so determined to get the old Laura back so let the journey begin. ❤️
