Not the fun parts. Not the pretty packaging. Not the exciting launch moments.
The part where something goes wrong, time passes, and you have to decide what kind of standard you’re going to hold yourself to.
This was one of those moments for me.
An early LATC Essentials order never made it to the customer, and even though the shipping issue wasn’t fully in my control, the experience still mattered. When she reached out months later to let me know she still hadn’t received it, I knew I didn’t want to just apologize and move on.
This was one of those moments where I made a judgment call based on the full situation. Shipping issues can be complicated once a package is with the carrier, and every case is different, but in this case, making it right felt like the right thing to do.
So I remade the order and added a few extra pieces I chose with her style and locs in mind.
Because LATC Essentials is about more than soft, elevated, low-tension accessories. It’s also about care. The kind that pays attention. The kind that tries to make things right. The kind that remembers there’s a real person on the other side of every order.
As a new founder, I'm still learning and growing...but, also still caring deeply about the details.

Starter locs are fresh, neat, and exciting, BUT they’re also temporary. The frizz, unraveling, and softening aren’t always signs that something is wrong. A lot of the time, it’s just your hair learning how to exist in a new form. Like most great things, you have to give it time.
Instead of asking, “How do I keep this perfect?”
try asking, “How do I support the process?”
That mindset makes the journey feel a lot less stressful. At least, that's how it's been for me personally.

I honestly stumbled across the information through doing some deep dives early in my loc journey.
