看了這本書才知道，原來腦中那些聲音是真的，而它們在心理學裡的名字，叫做小對話（chatter）。
書從腦神經科學的角度開始，論證小對話是大腦內建的自我對話能力，是人類心智發展的重要工具，它以語言建立敘事與意義，理解過去並推測未來。
但是小對話過度發揮即會陷入反芻性思考，像進入沒有終止的while迴圈，耗用心智的注意力以致當機，讓我們無法用百分百的心力，做出最好版本的自己。
這本書用各種故事與心理學的實證，讓我知道這腦中的聲音很正常，更找出一些工具，讓我們能在小對話發出不安的訊息時登出它們。
我最常用的一類工具是抽離（Distancing），像是想像成為牆壁上的蒼蠅，或是以第三人稱稱呼自己，拉開心理距離，可以快速擺脫沉浸式視角，轉換敘事，從聚焦特寫換化為一個客觀的旁觀者。
第二類是切換入自然場景。人對大自然的敬畏會讓煩惱顯得微不足道，不只是實際上山下海，只要看著照片回想起面向大海與山脈的感動，都能有效修復人的自主注意力（所以太久沒給山海療癒一下會壞掉是真的）
我不再尋求把腦內聲音靜音，而是練習與它們和平共處，在某個聲音試圖取代我的主控權時，向它說：謝謝你跟我分享這些，但你知道嗎？這次我會照我自己的意志來行動。

原住民因其出身，常被化約為一種扁平的特徵（無論正面與否），也因此受到被差別對待的風險。
我想這種焦慮是真實的。雖然沒有原民身份，但作為一個亞洲人同志，在求學、職場甚至親密關係裡，我都體驗過標籤如何影響他人對我的認知，進而影響生活裡的互動。
但同時，我也想到Netflix 影集《The Bold Type》。有一集 Kate 在昇職時被要求寫下她的自介，雖然她是一半非裔一半白人，但她一開始挺排斥強調她的非裔身份——她認爲她的成就，是靠著實力與努力而成，與她的膚色無關。
隨者她與爸爸深入談論，一個非裔美國人男性、更黑的黑人在成長時面對的困境，她理解到在種族差距依舊明顯的今日，這是她有力量去改變的時刻：以一名黑人女性的現身，是對有色人種的賦能，是重奪話語權的政治選擇，告訴所有非裔少男少女，你們也是充滿機會的；就算相對應地，她也必須開始承擔拾起標籤後的責任。
這集我最喜歡的，是Kate爲自己做決定，她決定以黑人女性與世人互動，豐富有色人種的敘事，而不是被他人歸類與定義。
身份政治是把雙面刃，一面有著「先看到族群再看到個人」的風險，一面卻也有機會，述說這個族群不同版本的故事。
所以回到楊的媒體再現，不管楊是否強調原住民的身份，都沒有對錯或好壞，我們都會一樣以他為榮。
更最重要的是，我們沒有權力為他人代言，讓當事人自己決定，他想要採取哪一種說法，而我們最好能做的，就是守在轉播前，為台灣隊加油。

過去兩周，剛好是碩論結束到開工前的短暫空檔，我和馬先生待在他義大利Trieste的阿嬤家。
早上去巷口喝個咖啡後，他去語言學校上義大利文，我就回家快樂地耍廢到中午。等他放學，我們再搭二十分鐘的公車，去海邊泡上一整個下午。
Trieste綿延的岩岸接著亞德里亞海，當地人自備毛巾躺椅，在海濱直曬成橄欖色。我常躺在泳圈上漂流，聽蟬鳴與波浪，遠處光點粼粼，曬熱了就上岸把自己風乾，皮膚上附有一層鹽的結晶。
我熱愛的假期，就像是法文說的 rien faire，什麼都不做，把日子活成一片空白，吃飯喝酒，散步睡覺，生活不被正事耽誤。無所事事，就是最心滿意足的事。
