I’ve started working with an assistant (the wonderful ) and an agent (brilliant ) and I’ve begun working on my first longer personal project. I’ve started to think of my work as a practice for the first time in the quietness and I’ve learnt a bit about printing, and have started thinking about other ways that I can expand the way that I work to tell more stories.
There’s been a discomfort for sure in this change: it feels like there are more decisions to make (which is fun when you get decision paralysis), more need to back myself (if you know me, you know this is tough) and there are no deadlines (one of my key motivators). But it also feels spacious, and I actually feel a bit proud of myself.
All this is to say, here’s to hopefully eating some fruit in 2026. I’m excited to see what’s to come, and what’s yet to be learnt.
