His room, however, is still not yellow. Nor has it been touched in any other way (desperately needs new windows and flooring). BUT - it does have artwork leaned against walls (one day it’ll make it ON TO the walls), and it does contain all his (and some of my) favourite things, and it does now feel cosier thanks to the addition of some very cute bedding.
Oh and you’ll see his lil sister also got her wee mitts on a wee treat of her own - the sweetest lil fabric book 🐝📖
Named Lipa after my grandmother (an old Croatian name and word meaning beautiful), Maimie after Rich’s late Grandma, and Rose in ode of Maimie’s magical garden where we were married and my love for all things rose.
She was birthed at home surrounded by so much love. It was redemptive, and healing, and everything I have ever dreamt a birth could be.
She is everything I didn’t know I was missing and we’re all very much in love.
I take mine generously laced with milk and honey, he takes his neat black (& always with many, many biscuits on the side for both of us).
’s Organic Chai Tea tastes like wintery heaven and because it’s made using only whole, natural ingredients it means it’s actually good for you too 🤝

I’ve long been attempting to get myself here to check it all out and so when the invitation to join some of my favourite gals and arose I jumped very excitedly at the opportunity. It is conveniently situated just by Canterbury station in Kent, a direct train ride from Kings Cross, but I took the opportunity to have a relaxing solo drive down (which meant I’d have more space to fill the car with goodies 👀).
We lunched in the restaurant space where the menu changes daily and the ingredients come straight from the market floor. As someone who used to delight in proper gastro food but who hasn’t been able to do so in a very long time because #mumlife, I can safely say that the food WAS TO DIE FOR 🤌🏽
After a couple hours of chatting, eating and light/interiors appreciation (the building originally served as a railway storage shed and was restored by visionary owner, Susanna, to the most impeccable standard), I made my way down to the market floor where I filled an entire box with fresh produce, store cupboard items and baked goods. I then also left with a generously packed goodie box filled to the brim with local produce.
This treasure trove is definitely worth a visit!

Feat - Vintage terracotta pots from late Grandma Maimie’s garden, Geraniums because they became my new fav after visiting this year’s Chelsea Flower Show and they’re also symbolic for new beginnings, beeswax for intention and air purification, stinging nettle from the garden for pregnancy minerals, verbena for calm, peeling paint and dappled sunlight as a reminder that beauty can still exists alongside delapadation, and my wee boy in his element ❤️
Lots of love to you all x
We moved into this house in the peak of summer and for those first few months I relished in spending my morning moments pretty much exclusively outside in the garden. The outdoors was more of a friend to me in those warmer months than inside was and I truly feared the day the warm weather would end.
But as the morning air started crisping up and the late September light gently started streaming in, casting magical morning shadows where none had been before, I’ve found myself suddenly more at peace with the idea of being inside.
Now, my Organic English Breakfast Tea accompanies me during the morning like a diligent pet as I linger, inspecting the new, ever changing morning shadows dancing on the walls. My cup is by my side as I get ready for the day and it still also joins me for the occasional morning dead-heading session as I wait for the toast to pop.
A very happy English Breakfast Tea and morning lingering season to you all 🫖 x

Many of you are aware of our (and also share the) ‘to leave or not to leave London’ debacle. After living in our central London flat for 12 years and having explored ALL the possibilities of where to potentially move to, we finally settled on staying in London for now, though somewhere a little further out.
Our list of desirables when it came to a home fundamentally consisted of - a period/character property with some sort of outdoor space, decent transport connections, in walking distance of green space and shops, with enough room to house our growing family for a few years, that wouldn’t financially stretch us into oblivion. There were many compromises to be had (ie the garden stairs of death as I like to call them, not really having anywhere to park a pram, only having one toilet) but ultimately this house delivered on the key things.
It’s been a roller coaster of a three months since we moved in, my (absolutely raging/debilitating) pregnancy hormones have pretty much boycotted the whole experience and the settling in period has been a lot less romantic than I had envisaged. Our vocabulary has consisted of things like ‘wtf, damp, pipework, surveys, how is this so uneven?, which box is that thing in?, indoor wildlife, & what’s that smell?’.
We’ve redesigned the layout of the house a million times over in our heads, ranging from doing a lot to doing very little and we’ve still not really settled on any solid plans. I’ve always been a big believer in taking things slow, but even by my standards things have been SLOW (apart from the haste at which the carpets were pulled up!!)
There isnt a single room or even corner that feels remotely done in any way shape or form, yet in just a few months a certain little person will be making their debut into the world and so the countdown is ON to get this place feeling as cosy and livable as we possibly can 😅🙏
This year has pulled me into THE MOST deeply inward facing journey. Undergoing surgery to repair my fallopian tubes after our life shattering Ectopic Pregnancy experience last year, selling a home, buying a home, getting a new positive pregnancy test (this time viable 🙏), moving house at 9 weeks pregnant, navigating a new life in a new area, big time struggles in motherhood, past birth trauma resurfacing, and on and on and on. This period has almost done me in. Like realy really.
But I’ve been holding on for dear life.
And here we are.
Still living amongst chaos and transition and still trying to figure it all out, but so grateful for the little soul that’s chosen us, and for the many scars on my belly that got us to this point ❤️
