That little girl spent most of primary school in resources, always told her “hearing” was the reason she struggled. Yet she went on to get a degree in music.
As a teenager she locked herself in a room for the Leaving Cert, convinced no amount of study would ever be enough.
For 29 years she believed she was ditzy, not smart, and that everything she achieved was just luck.
But that little girl grew into the woman I am today someone who stopped forcing herself to fit into a box that was never made for her. She built a business her younger self never would have thought possible, because society taught her that intelligence only comes from good grades and being like everyone else.
The last year has been one of the hardest but also one of the most comforting of my life. Ironically, it’s ADHD Awareness Month just over a year since I finally understood why everything always felt so hard.
Now, I’m proud of that little girl and how hard she tried. And I hope we can move towards a world that accepts there’s no single “right” way of thinking. If we adapt how things are run to suit more than one style of mind, fewer people will struggle.
Because that little girl had no choice but to learn how to be instead of just being…and it hurts to think that children today will still have the same experiences.

Basically spent the entire week unsure how to answer this question…
Honestly, I don’t feel any different but because everyone keeps asking I feel like I should?!
Will, I wake up tomorrow feeling completely different? I really doubt it…
Although my knees are a little sore because I decided to visit an escape room instead of having a 30th birthday party...
But that’s self inflicted 🤣
All in all…I quite happy with how my 20’s turned out.
I developed this new sense of independence. Travelled to over 25 countries. Built a successful business. Finally understood why my mind feels so ‘different’. Made some incredible friendships. And memories that will last a lifetime.
Oh, and learnt how to walk again…not a challenge I ever thought I would have to face but got through it nonetheless.
And while not a single one of those fit into the traditional milestones…
When they are all grouped together in one list it’s hard not to feel positive about the next few years.
And don’t get me wrong, I’d love a house, to get married and maybe someday I may decide to have a family. Who knows 🤷♀️
It’s wild to me that this is the expectation of most women by the age of 30… and it causes so much pressure…
Anyways, that’s why made this video. For both myself, and anyone else my age feeling a little bit weird about getting older.
Looking at things from a different perspective can really shift your mindset 😍

It so nice to show the Irish culture off to a wider audience in a fun and creative way.
But…tell the girl to make a YouTube video to be watched by thousands she says not problem…
Tell her to make a speech in-front of 300 people, she freezes and makes not sense 😂

I am so proud, 2019 was by far the hardest year of my life. I felt like my freedom had to stripped away from me. I went from having complete independence to needing help to have a shower, being unable to make my own dinners and crying every night.
At the time I had no idea if I’d be able to walk normal again and that really affected me mentally. It’s not something I talk about much on here cause to be honest I like to think about it as little as possible.
Ironically, this is when I started taking my blog seriously. I found myself dreaming about travelling again and writing really helped pass the time.
I don’t think ‘that Laura’ would believe me if I told her all the amazing opportunities she would have in the future. I’m so proud of her!
If things are a little heavy at the moment just know that they will get better. Take every moment as it comes. Life can be hard sometimes but you are doing amazing. And don’t let others opinions or actions get in the way of you being the best version of yourself!
