This is Mother’s Day. When women gave us life and breath and gifted us their time and whole heart. When their every day shifted from themselves to their little beings. When a woman birthed their own or said yes to another’s. Most women don’t really know how much their life is about to change with a baby. This can be so scary and exciting. Most do know they are at the edge of their greatest adventure yet. Adventure is the best word as adventures are full of risks, fun, unknown, excitement and fear.
Mothers are amazing. It’s incredible and mind-blowing what they hold in their hearts and what their love holds together like glue in the every day. They hold each child’s emotions, disappointments and happiness. These things are wrapped up in the blanket of the mother’s compassion and deeper-than-anything love.
We’re strong and brave even from the beginning- carrying a growing baby inside of us, birthing a human from our bodies and all that entails and everything that follows. Everything we know seems to change… yet it was in us all along.
