I’m Lise (pronounced the same as Lisa), I turned 40 this year and threw a massive party to celebrate and honestly feel like I am just getting started. I am a Chartered Accountant and work full time running the Finance function for a technology group - I love my job and the people I work with and have been building the business for 9 years. I started at Deloitte and then did a long stint in Corporate Finance but that’s only one part of my brain!
I am an aunt to 2 nephews who are the light of my life, my family is a privilege I never take for granted - my parents live in Onrus, Hermanus, and it is my big dream to renovate my own beach house there one day. I travel every opportunity my budget and leave balance allows and feel so alive the moment I touch down somewhere new.
I live in a 130 year old Victorian house in the City Bowl of Cape Town which I have filled with local art and design and I can’t imagine loving anywhere more - I love old places and new communities and I have made forever friends in my Neighbourhood. There is nothing I love more than hosting dinners and parties at my home and have been doing that since living in tiny one bedroom apartments. In the last few years, brands have started partnering with me to showcase their products while I host or just go about life. What a privilege.
I have spent my adult life building friendships I am proud of. I believe that to have a village you have to be a villager so I work hard at that. I read a lot (35 books this year) and share my ratings for those on here. I am wildly passionate about our local art and design industry and have created a few fun products with brands I love
