The historical context ~
I was inspired by ancient Malayali Christian wedding traditions from wedding photos I recently found and wanted to begin to honor that here through the head veil, necklace and wooden cross.
I could not find the exact clothing that was worn but it always had deep rich colors. Which is *so* different from the classic Kerala saree which is off white with a gold border, so I chose to use this coral kanchipuram saree from Tamil Nadu which has the rich color I was looking for.

I hope to be able to source more pieces so I can recreate more of these older traditions in the future.
