Life wise, not everything is aligned. But even at 40, I still believe in God's purpose for me and that so much success still awaits in my future. I have dreams that still need to be fulfilled and I know wholeheartedly that God's got me. ✨️
I look back and I'm absolutely thankful for the unexpected but cool life I've lived and the turn of events that have happened. Even for the negative ones that have transformed me. ✨️
I never thought I'd quit my career, leave the U.S, live abroad, travel the world, be childless, be divorced, that I'd love singlehood and purposefully choose it, nor that I'd seek solo fertility. I thought at 40 I'd still be married, with 4 kids, living in a Tucson home, and still a classroom teacher. Yet here I am, living the freelance life still figuring out life but blessed with friendships and cool experiences.✨️
And you know what?....it's the most peaceful years I've lived. I don't have it all, but my mind is calm and I love the stage my life is in. I'm thankful for my 40s and I'm looking forward to what this next decade has in store for me. ✨️

In January, I spent my birthday & holidays at home for the first time in 6 years. I also caught feelings, which is rare. It was a beautiful time, but when it didn't work out, I chose myself and to not date again this year. 💔✨️ and I didn't in the past 11 months.
At the end of February, I decided to retry fertility to become a solo mom.🤰🏽I was pregnant by April and felt so happy! But I lost the baby & it led to my summer feeling like a blur of mixed feelings & emotions of ups & downs. I'll try again eventually. Plus, freelancing got tough for a bit. I got scammed into a fake job and wasted my time. Spent too much time in Arizona working some side jobs. It felt messy. But I was happy to be around family. ✨️
By the end of October things felt better, and healing had taken place. November & December were simply fun! Two epic concerts -Rauw & Bad Bunny, lots of friend time, & walking around Mexico City. ✨️🇲🇽
Tomorrow I end it in Arizona again, unfortunately sick, 🤒 😷 hibernating in my nephew's room with my cough medicine& tea, but with my heart full because I get to be around my family the next few days. ✨️
Looking back and reflecting, I was so blessed with friendship & family this year. More than other years. Thank you to the friends/family who gave me a shoulder to cry on, those who helped me, danced & laughed with me, had lunch with me/cooked for me, the ones that gifted me flights or concert tickets. Those who made time, sent audios & even the admirers who were kind and chat with me 🤭 Not everyone is in the videos, but know I'm thankful for you friends.
I know the 1st is simply another day to many, but to me, it's a reminder of how blessed I am to live another year and to have the people I have in my life. Plus, it's a reminder to revisit my dreams & goals ✨️ and to make them come true.

Val'Quirico is an establishment in Tlaxcala only 2.5 hrs away from Mexico City. It's inspired by Tuscany, Italy -so beautiful. You can get there by bus from the TAPO bust station to CAPU bus station in Puebla. From Puebla, you can take an Uber to Val'Quirico, or you can save money by riding a combi (shuttle) but I personally didn't want to deal with wasting more time, so I took a shuttle.

You can find turquoise beaches, lovely waterfalls, awesome mountains and volcanoes, whale whale watching and more. 🇲🇽
But Mexico is also culturally diverse, wild and fun. Just visit the small towns to see how awesome their fiestas and bailes get. 🇲🇽
Mexicans love music, dancing, banda, getting wild at the towns and beaches, food and gathering to eat, hanging out on the streets and with each other. They're happy people and you feel the energy when you spend time in the country. 🇲🇽

Truth is, I LOVE teaching. It's the toughest but most rewarding job! I only quit because I had a passion to see more of the world and it was the perfect season to do something different with my life. 💃🏽
If you're thinking about quitting your job, let go of the fear and just do it. However, make sure you have a financial plan. Pay off your debt. Save money. Volunteer abroad. Get an online job or start an online business. Decide how many months. 🤗
Even if it's just for a season, it will be such a special time in your life. It's scary and beautiful at the same time, but so worth it. 😊
Funny thing is, a year later I'm back to teaching. However, this time it's teaching adults instead of children, and I'm really enjoying it. Plus it's online, meaning I can teach from anywhere in the world. A perfect mix for two things I love💻📕

Where I'm sitting, it's base camp of a volcano called Acatenango, in Amtigua Gautemala. The summit is 3,900m high. Base camp was cold, but the summit was absolutely freezing. Coldest I've been. 🌋🥶
The active volcano in my view is Volcan Fuego. It is always erupting. The day we visited it was very active, erupting sometimes every 2 minutes, sometimes every 20. 🌋🔥
At night, we saw lava. While sleeping, some eruptions were really loud and caused the earth to shake. We could feel it in our cabin floors. 🔥🌋
Casually eating breakfast and dinner I front of an erupting volcano was one of the coolest things ever. 🌋🌄
Why was it so hard? 1. Altitude. I struggled for air while hiking. Some people got sick and had headaches.
2. Incline. It's at about a 75% slope all the way up. And at the summit hike, about 90% slope and loose gravel. 3. Carrying a backpack with about 15 kilos is tough! You can hire porters, but my proud self chose to carry it all. 🌋🌋
I was one if the slow ones. But I was so darn proud of myself at the end! 🌋🌋
I went with the company and they definitely made it a great experience.
