This past weekend I decided to take in some good old Canadian tradition- Skijoring!
What’s Skijoring? At the Banff SnowDays Festival, skijoring means skiers being pulled along a snow-covered course by horses and riders, racing down the middle of Banff Avenue. The show includes high-speed runs, big jumps, tricks, and even a fun skijor fashion vibe with western wear and bold winter outfits.
I am not usually a crowd person, but I had SO MUCH FUN! I felt so great in my outfit and absolutely loved how many people had their own style and vibe!
I left a little late which was a mistake. By the time I got to town, most of the parking was gone and I had to park a bit of a distance from downtown.
Second mistake in not leaving early was I had to sift my way through the crowd. I tried to find friends but it was shoulder to shoulder 😂 I did however eventually find a snow mound that got me a better view!
Once the event was over, Banff seemed to go back to its normal winter pace. The streets slowed down, but the cowboys and girls still owned the town. Melissa’s was lined up around the corner for their after party as I made my way to
Dinner was incredible. My steak was cooked perfectly and my sprouts were seasoned 👌🏻👌🏻
The restaurant was very busy but the staff was incredible. I would 💯 go back and I will be posting about them separately soon ❤️
Overall, it was an amazing experience. I would definitely come back next year, however I would do some things differently. I would either arrived earlier or just get a hotel in town or nearby. I would also get my butt downtown way earlier!!
I can’t believe I’m going to admit it, but there may be a little cowgirl in my after all 😂 YEEEE HAW!

If you drive to Waterton, drive Akamina parkway, park in a little lot, put on all your hiking gear, wander this trail, stop to smell flowers, wander more, put on a rain poncho, continue wandering, then you’ll arrive here at Lineham Falls!
Although we didn’t go to the base because of the crazy rain, this is one of my favourite moments etched into my brain ❤️ I hope it stays forever
